Inky, brooding Grenache-based Southern Blend from Rotie Cellars. It's a lovely CDP mimic with red and black fruit flavors, a smoky earthiness, and wonderful spice notes. A lovely floral quality comes out on the finish. The tannins are firm but sweet and there's nice acidity that holds everything together. Very enjoyable now with plenty of life left in it. It can go another 8-10 years.

Absolutely on spot…now, drink this thing.it is beautiful. 10years out for a Grenache is pretty heady. Most French CPDs are lost after 10.

Definitely faded from peak but still a lot to enjoy. None of that old funk/raisin flavor, but the fruit has faded. I think I enjoyed this more immediately after opening and pouring than I did 90 minutes later with slow ox. Some green pepper, soft and integrated, unconvincing finish. Never really “shows up”.

Super forest floor-black raspberry with great depth and mocha-herbal finish. Pretty killer at this point in a nice window.

Nice red fruit and garrigue with a lot of bottle-aged spiciness, held together by woody tannins and good acid. Long finish. Well made and ready to go, if you like them aged.

Still insanely good juice. Not even close to over the hill. Not flabby in the least.

one of the better bottles I've had from Rotie. Excellent fruit, Blackfruited but far from Jammy. medium bodied. very mild tannins with a surprising acidity. Tasty bottle. Liked this one a lot more than the 2018 I had.

Excellent wine, full bodied. What I usually expect from Rotie. A more than capable GSM blend. Pleasant notes of the Syrah shine through the Grenache.

70% Gr./25% Mouv./5% Sy Enjoyable and good QPR. Starts with bright red fruit on the nose and a hint of black pepper, flavors of dark fruit (plum), spices, and black pepper. Reasonable length on the finish. Not overly complex or savory but still good. Don't see any improvement happening. Drink in the mid term.

This is in a good place. Red fruit on the nose. Palate is a little more complex, with a dark fruit undertone. Just a touch of spice, enough to keep it interesting. Mellow tannins and a decent finish. Seems like it's at its peak, so no need to wait. Good value for the $26 I paid at Last Bottle.

Washington State Wineries; 9/24/2021-9/29/2021 (Woodinville, WA and Walla Walla, WA) : Nose is dusty and and earthy initially but with some air it gets very floral with violets, red berries and ripe plums. Palate is ripe and lifted with more red berries and violets. None of the fatness that GSMs can have sometimes. Really great for drinking with cured meats and cheeses.

My last of 4 bottles that I purchased from Garagiste. My previous bottle was 2 years ago, and I really enjoyed it. But this bottle seemed over the hill with the fruit tasting stewed. No rating.

Tasted in their vineyard tasting room in a full glass pour. Appearance: medium ruby/purple. No gas or sediment, medium(-) tearing Nose: medium(+) intensity ripe raspberry, candied cherry, and some dark funkyness. Some lighter cinnamon/licorice oaking notes Palate: super juicy, medium dry, plush and velvety, medium acidity, light tannins, medium/medium(-) body, super balanced, nice fruit forward complexity. The texture is one thing that really makes this wine stand out - it's like diving headfirst into an oversize sofa. Medium/medium(+) intense flavors …

PnP Very healthy wine. Dark garnet with a light rim. Rich aroma of raspberry extract. I believe 95% of the fruit comes from Horse Heaven Hills AVA so don't expect Rocks funk.. Medium+body. On the palate, raspberry fruit with white pepper notes. Darker notes of black fruit from 25% Mourvedre. Drinks well on initial pour but comes into its own at the half-hour mark. Finish has an interesting mint note.

Nose is muted, but shows raspberries and thanksgiving herbs. Palate is slightly warm with a bit of peppery spice, but shows nicely throughout the long mouth with crushed raspberries. Moderate acidity. Low tannins. Light and very drinkable. UPDATE: Day 2. Nose is more open. Cherries, raspberries, floral notes. Palate is still heavy on the crushed raspberries, but there is some showing of candied black cherries and a hint of balsamic. A bit of river rock? Less peppery. Still quite long. …

Fun, bright, Grenache-based blend. It took a good hour decant for it to show its true face, but when it did, it was a knock-out. Forward cherry fruit interlaced with spice (Grenache white pepper, anise, smoke) and a nice amount of umami. In the mouth, the wine is velvety soft, lush and silky. Hints of bacon, some olive tapenade and more dark cherries lead into a nice long finish. This is an impeccable wine.

Give it some time to breathe. We decanted it for 30 minutes before first sip and it got better over the next 30. Kind of petrol on the nose...plenty of fruit and then, the most exciting part, was on the long, long aftertaste...licorice! clear as a bell.

Really tasty Southern Rhone blend; lots of red berry fruit, floral scents, anise and other spices, along with just a hint of leather. The palate is rich, but nicely delineated with good balance and nice freshness to the fruit. Goes well with food and has at least 4-6 years of solid aging potential.

When you first pop the cork, this is a Grenache bomb, totally overwhelms the other juices. Over the next two hours, in bottle, the Syrah and Mourvedre awaken. Well balanced through the entire evening, no hurry an this beauty, decant now or wait for later.

Man, I thought this bottle was in a beautiful spot. Everthing was in proportion, the fruit was nicely balanced by the acid and had none of thecandied nonsense you find in many. Not old world earthy by any means and less airy and ephemeral as some of the others such as Betz, but a dang good bottle of wine.

Decent N Rhone Syrah nose of peppered meat, herbs, olive, with a little warmth sneaking in. Decent palate of red and black fruit, pepper, herbs, and chocolate. Mid palate was lacking as was the finish. Enjoyable drink but for the money a bit underwhelmed.

Terrific sleeper wine we found in Walla Walla. Local favorite. Nice deep color (grenache, sryah, mourvedre), fruity, great finish. Barnyard, grassy when first poured. This drifts off a little, but still more pronounced than earlier tasted bottles.

Let breathe in the bottle about an hour. First thing I noticed is the amount of pure fruit that's showing compared to all the savory notes last time. A little more austere as a whole. Again, some spicy raspberries and other dark red and brown fruit. Not so much blue in this case. Even the color of the juice had a tan hue - maroon. The palate shows some mildly tart cranberry. A fine wine but doesn't have the mouth …

Vibrant purple-red. Gush of dark berry aroma. Initial oak tones melded with fruits and a whiff of anise within a 10 minutes so that it was perfectly integrated. Medium bodied, deep dark fruit with a raspberry tone and again a touch of licorice. Initial tannins were powdery rather than coarse and combined well with the rich fruit. Very good length. Just hitting the opening of its best drinking window. Very well made but there is a sense I have that …

Opened 90 minutes before consuming. Drank over another two hours. Initial nose of flowers and red fruit. On the palate, red raspberries and a bit of smoky meat, but a lot of heat. As the evening progressed, became more complex with more floral flavors mixed with ripe red fruit and meat. Very smooth by the end of the bottle. I may have to seek out more. If scoring 91-92.
