Granted paired with Korean food was not ideal nor was the keeping of this but still did not feel together or with a harmony and didn’t work for us. Not sure what to make of it but nothing more than 88-89

Nose: dusty cherries, blackberry, tea, light coffee, baking spice, rootbeer/watered down cherry cola, flowers, orange peel (dried and fresh), smells like an abandoned small church in an off grid forested area. Palate: tart red fruits mostly cranberry and sour cherry, High acid, med body, med silky tannin, med alc, long grippy finish. Compares well to ‘09 bosconia I had a year ago. Bosconias are so smooth yet have so much presence. 92 now-likely much higher in 5-10 years.

PnP Z Bx. Forsmak med lammebog i ovnen. Klassisk Rioja nese med modning. Klar rein frukt med rognebær. Solid syre og tanniner. Spent på dette til maten. Fungerte supert . …

Rioja Reimagined - Tradition vs Innovation (K&L Wine Merchants, Hollywood) : Ruby and garnet color, clearing edges. Aromas savory fig, cherry, and apple, with leather, camphor, fennel, allspice, earth, and hints of vanilla. Bright fruit expression, red fruits with hints of balsamic, seamlessly integrated earthy forest, savory musk, spices. Medium bodied, fine density, buoyant acid, seamless tannins. Fine length.

Just a beautiful Rioja! Still so full of fruit with a long life ahead of it, but this was stunning with some savory dishes, letting the fruit soften and sweeten. One of the best!

Present and the chiseled, pronounced middle adds welcomed weight. Long. The tannin is of gossamer and this is just lovely today; same with the second. Black cherry, walnut, hope chest, blonde coffee and plums. Riveting delineation and redolent. Elegant and the body is medium to full. Great energy. Drink now - 2040

So nice to revisit this after barely three months. The tasting note is identical (as it should be), and once again I thoroughly enjoy the interplay between fruity generosity (in context) and classical élevage. Five years in American oak, lest you forget. I really like it in its present energetic and assertive state, it is perhaps already expanding a bit which is nice, and it should age very well. A very fine Bosconia (Note: I vehemently disagree with Purple Tooth's …

This is just what you want of a classic Rioja. Just an amazing fresh, piercing "fruit", with that vanilla oaky background. PnP - rare for me - undecanted, no detectable deposit. Took a little while to open out, but not very long, drank well for 3 days.

Wow!!! We opened two bottles of this with Oxtails braised in Rioja served over broad noodles. Poured the first bottle into the glasses one hour before dinner and decanted the second bottle at that time, so maybe 90 minutes of air for both. A perfect blend of very lush fruit and soft tannin. No bricking at all despite its age. We've cellared this for 15+ years and it's been stored properly. If you can find it in good condition, highly …

Very aged flavors for such a youngish Rioja. Lots of wood as expected, sour juice, and no substance to morhp on. Classic in style, this needs lots and lots of age because today it's caught in that stage where it lacks freshness and lacks age. HOLD_

This is a classic, old-school Rioja from an iconic producer. To my palate, it's drinking a point but will cruise in the cellar for another decade or two easily. Bright red. Vibrant, spice-tinged red currant and cherry notes on the nose. Some tobacco, vanilla and incense too. Sweet and seamless on the palate. Oak is fully integrated, leaving pleasant vanilla notes on the medium + finish. Served PnP from a decanter.

I enjoyed this wine overall. But I did have some issues with it. Aging nicely but it is the acidity that is a bit high. Also maybe a bit thin through the mid palate. Some balsamic notes, kind of zippy acidity but the fruit can't keep up. Some sour cherry and dried berry notes with tobacco, spices and even a touch of citrus on the finish. Dusty drying tannins, but the tannins are not really noticeable. Bit of green/herbal element …

Purchased back in early '18 for $27--I miss those days--and 3 years since our last bottle. Brought to a restaurant, slow-O'd for around 90 minutes before we got to this. Followed one glass over 40 minutes or so. This is in a nice place with fruit still present over herbs, balsamic and crushed rocks. Dinner at Porzana (Porzana, Mpls) : Dark red color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. Slow O for about 90 minutes. Hi toned florest floor on the nose, purple flowers, cassis, blueberry on the nose. Popped, Venturi decant and served, was drinking within 10 minutes. Color shows only a hint of age, fruit is right there and on the palette it doesn’t show any age, unopened this bottle would easily outlive me. Paired excellently with sautéed pork chop seasoned with Hungarian Paprika. Gained a bit of weight at end but a 750 opened for dinner doesn’t last more than an hour around here. Highly recommended.

First time with this recently released vintage. Quite closed at the beginning. Opened up after about an hour beginning to show the savory, meaty fruit I associate with Bosconia. Surely would've gained with even more time but was a restaurant purchase so not possible. I think this showed like a cooler vintage maybe with bright acidity and less power (and immediate appeal) than (for example) 09, 10 or 11. But yeah it's very early days of course so hard to …

Boisterous red fruit; pretty, but also quite ripe and fruit-forward. Lovely sous bois that is an LdH signature as well. On the palate, it is fleshy and almost jammy. Some heat, and fruit-derived sucrosity, towards the backpalate. Palate is very primary and a touch stewed here. Looking forward to revisiting this as the primary fruit recedes a bit.

Drinking beautifully - splash decanted for 45 min, then drank over 2 hrs. Visually, some orange/brown hues reveal its age. Intense nose where fruit is now in the background. Oak, while prevalent, has mellowed out. And non-fruit characteristics, esp leather, cigar box, tobacco are prominent. Tannins are quite fine, and acidity is wonderfully refreshing. Wine of the night.
