Wine was a bit past prime, but the tart cherry that was once dominant still had an impact through the glass. More restrained, and a bit thin, but overall a pleasant wine

Nice wine. Still holding up well. Smooth for its potentially rustic blend. Better than your typical Cali style from this region. Moving toward a balanced, more earthy, smooth style, but with enough Old World tendencies to make it worthy.

A year ago I thought this wine was at its optimum, but I was wrong .... it only got better! All I can say is Wow! It's well integrated, fruit forward (but not a fruit bomb), low in tannin, and just a pleasure to drink. Cherry and other red and black fruit on the nose. A very nice, fruit forward red rhone blend. Very little oak, complex fruit flavors. Probably at or near its optimum drinking time.

Great nose with black raspberry, basil, vanilla, black pepper. Raspberry, boysenberry, vanilla, black pepper. The long finish has leather, red fruit, basil, sweet tannins.

Black pepper dominates the nose with hints of raspberry, mint. Raspberry attack followed by blueberry, boysenberry, cassis, vanilla. Nice acidic finish with black pepper, mint, leather.

Same notes as last bottle. Drinking great with couple hours in the decanter. 90+ pts.

Opens up to reveal loads of sweet raspberry, layered upon pepper, herb along with purple flowers and a shot of mineral. Medium body but, displaying nice inter-mouth energy and punch. Silky texture and lots of natural acidity. Drink now-2014. 90+ pts.
