This is a very nice effort, and a little brave. They kept it on the lees in the barrel for almost 2 years, and we get to reap the rewards. This is unusually full bodied, creamy and smooth. Yes there is a slight leesy (vanilla) flavor that some might not like. There is a special balance here, all the components of wine flavors are in harmony, and of course there is a price for that. I don't see any reason …

Cherry nose with vanilla hints. Fruit forward. Some oak and more vanilla on the mouth. ETOH at 14.5%. Very enjoyable as a stand alone.

Deep brick color. Dark fruit. Full bodied pinot with decent spice on the finish. Deeper flavor and higher alcohol (14.5%) than most pinots, but fairly well balanced. It's definitely not your standard Russian River pinot.
