Buy newer vintages of this wine. It’s really good expression of a Peju red blend. However, this year is past its peak. I have been drinking this for about 3-5 years off and on, probably about 6-8 bottles, and the last two (last night and about 3-months ago) have been a bit flat compared to before. It is smooth, and the earthy tones are taking over with the fruit taking a back seat. To some that may be better, but …

Equal parts Cab Sauv/Merlot/Petit Verdot/Cab Franc. Medium nose shows dust, mocha, red plums, blackberry, fresh herbs, espresso. Palate really nicely expressive, sweet spice, big fruits layers, espresso again, dried black plums, thyme, dark chocolate. Structure then gets pretty bold, lots of bang for the buck here, medium plus tannins, alcohol, medium plus finish/complexity. Excellent QPR.

Small Lineup with Fine Vines (Anvil Club) : Tasting. A merlot-dominant blend with smaller amounts of sauvignon and petit verdot in the mix. There's a plushness at first, with mixed berry fruit and spice that follow through on the palate. Dries out on the palate though, and feels a bit lean in the finish.

MOE: I like this wine, well balanced, drinking well all by itself.

Sonoma/Napa with my beautiful wife!; 5/10/2017-5/13/2017 (Northern California) : Tasted at winery Nose came off strange, may be flawed. Pomegranate, raspberry, plum also almost a rubber component, which lead to my belief of a flaw. Tannins do not seem to be in balance either, not a fan

Juicy and smooth red and black berry fruit. Easy to pop n pour. Smooth and soft right out of the gate. Has a certain delicious factor. Drink now or over the next few years for the opulence.

This is a pass for me. Bright red fruit came on after a slightly harsh opening. Little bit of heat coming through. Drinking by itself while wifey watches The Bachelor... Might need another glass to get through this....

Generally smooth and good QPR. Starts off looking very bright but contains itself on the mid palate.
