Moulin de la Gardette, Gigondas, Ventabren

Clear red with slight brown edges. Dark fruits, vanilla, cherry and sarsaparilla in flavour. Drinking nicely.

Enjoyed with lamb chops and ratatouille. Nice fruit, but structured. Tannins soft. On the whole good balance. Don’t think it would keep any longer

During an evening which featured world class Rhone wines, this played! Most tasters were double-blind, with several calling it CdP, though most experienced tasters noted the black rock element common to Gigondas. The wine also features spent espresso grounds, fig cake, glycerin, unsweetened dark chocolate powder, wafting hints of cayenne powder, and ripe berry and light coffee liqueurs. Showing beautifully now, likely at or near peak. 93-94.

Deep red, nose black fruit. Taste long, red fruit excellent with wild pheasant pie and roast chicken

This is a pretty good wine. Dark fruit nose. Very smooth and well balanced. Long taste. Strong wine went well with beef cheeks

Surprisingly old-school and really lovely right now. A somewhat stinky, funky, earthy nose leading on to a palate of dried red fruit and garrigue. A very nice bottle of Gig.
