Tried this a few years ago in Baku and again recently in London. Madrasa, one of Azerbaijan’s iconic reds. Dry, dark ruby. Nose of black plum. Mineral, quietly complex on the palate, with soft tannins. From a 1954 old-vine Madrasa ungrafted, aged 9 months in French oak. Long, persistent finish. Very rare now, sadly only made in tiny quantities.

Hidden gem! Barolo like, but with bordeauesqe touch. Francs de pied. Needs to breath for 1-2 hours. Will age very well.
