Really enjoyed this fuller bodied CA Rhone varietal. Neyers is always solid.

Wine was decanted for an hour. Red flowers. Cranberries, pomegranate, red plums, spices, earth. Light bodied. Alcohol medium, tannins medium-plus. Finishes short and dry. It seems impossible that this wine is from CA. Definitely an Old World style. I'm glad I tried this interesting, Carignan-dominant blend, but will not purchase again.

Dark red, slightly purplish. Nose is dominated by oak and a bit of alcohol. Palate starts with red fruits, then becomes briary, smoky, and dusty with a slightly tannic finish. Very much like a good quality Cotes du Rhone.

Nice little bottle of wine along the Rhone Rangers style. Subtle dark fruit with an earthiness finishing on a pepper spice note. Not especially complex but enjoyable. Do see the comparison to a nice Cote du Rhone.

Clear dark-ruby color. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, pressed violets, sage and paprika. Medium-bodied palate, with snappy and lively fruit, and thick brambly spice and floral depth. Medium acid, round grainy tannins. Modest finish. Nicely done.

45/25/15/15 Carignan/Grenache/Mourvedre/Syrah, sees used French oak. Medium plus nose gives pomegranate, cranberry, white pepper, fresh red flowers, red plum. Palate matches, with some sour red notes that makes me ask if gets carbonic ferment (answer is yes!), red plum, light spice of white pepper. Interesting, especially from a CA producer, very much a French style. Beaujolais drinkers would like this. Medium plus tannins give it more structure than a Gamay, finishes medium and dry.

Neyers Tasting Visit - 7/1/17 : Aromas of pressed flowers, brambly spice and black cherry. Fresh and lively on the palate showing floral dark fruit and nuanced savory and sweet spices. Medium-bodied, medium acidity, and fine dusty tannins. Nicely done.
