Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Corvees Pagets

Probably a couple years past its prime. Initial PnP was very flat on the nose and in the mouth. After 90 minutes, it began drinking quite nicely and the nose was beautiful. The second 90 minutes saw it quickly decline. If you have any, I would say drink up. Not bad, but certainly not a show stopper.

Tasted blind. Black and red cherries, fresh cut grass. Chewy, meaty on the palate, hint of mushrooms. Very nice now, quite powerful, could easily age another 5 years.

Outstanding burg. Sensational weight, notes of hazelnut, tiny hints of minerality, and just gorgeous. Beat up the two GCs it was next to.

Super young. Aggressively vibrant. Pretty high on acid and solid tannins. Fruit on the high toned side. Never going to be a power house but should round out and be lovely with more time.

10 year retrospective tasting at Conrad's (Conrad Green) : This has a lovely open nose with light spice, elegant pinot character, a drop of sweet ripe cherry, slight cola and floral element along with a touch of metalic minerality; all components are integrating nicely without showing its 10 years. It is a bit soft and the only downside is it lacks a bit of structure. But otherwise beautiful and pleasurable.

Iron and wood aromas initially followed by dark, ripe fruits. Rich fruit yet clean at the finish with the fleshy fruits up front. Light tannin but definitely dries the palate. Trying to get out from under it's wood influences but no rush here. Still young.

Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Nuits St Georges (Rodwell House) : Some perfume but mainly earthy notes of tree bark, blackcurrant, and black cherry. The wine is linear with crisp acidity, thick concentration and structure with enough flesh to fill it out. There is black cherry and red plum, and plenty of firm grippy tannins. Muscular with tertiary development the mid-palate is sappy and juicy whilst the tannins feel extracted and builds. Relatively warm and alcoholic it seems to show …

Oxidized but still drinkable

PnP at Lotus of Siam. Closed at first. Opened within 10 minutes in glass. Woody red in color (no hint of oxidation or heat damage). Strawberry, cherry, stemmy earth, and hints of tobacco and spices. Medium intense fruit on entry that both spreads and penetrates with a focussed acidity that holds fairly constant from entry to finish. Somewhat firm tannins, giving an edge to the silky texture. Medium low complexity, medium plus finesse.

Rich strawberry nose; tasty, rich, strawberry and red fruit palate; medium finish 93+ pts.
