Diessenhofen on a Thursday evening. I think this is a 2021. Actually not indicated on the bottle. Beautiful medium ruby color. What a beautiful animal nose full of leather, meaty, smoky notes. Love it already. Med acidity, med body, med alcohol, dry tannins, med falcor intensity and med finish. I love this very vivid mouth with animal notes, very woody fruits, which really develops nicely in the mouth. Rather atypical I just love this but I can imagine this is …

11.5% alcohol. A blend of Pinot noir, gamay and vieux anciens cepages Jurassiens. Couldn’t have been more different to the 2020 vintage. Very pale oeil de perdrix colour. Intensely, pungent mineral nose of flint, limestone, hints of rose. Rather flaccid palate, blood orange, watermelon, unique thread of spice, within a couple of hours had a very barnyard sauerbier flavour.

Still doing great. A bit spritzy on opening. Did a quick double decant and it went away after a 1/2 hour. Just kept getting better over the night and peaked at about 2-3 hours. Good fruit, nice tannic and acid structure with some earthy and bitter notes to make it interesting. Typical Ganevat funk but just a really good bottle. no rush to drink up.

From magnum. Delicious black fruit forward wine with a little tickle on the tongue. Had it with spicy Mexican food and this was a great combination. Seems in its prime drinking window albeit from Magnum.

Opened for France-Portugal (Euro). Last of my bottles, didn't get any spritz on any of them. This one had gone all dark and animale (some would say brett...) compared with the first two. Not for the faint of heart at this point, and some purists might have said flawed, but I really enjoyed it. Old World to the gills and right up my alley: barnyard, bacon, olive. Not any pepper to speak of, but blind I still probably would have …

This stuff is good. The CT drinking window is too tight, they're still doing fine. Funky and darker than the Jura variety reds from Ganevat. I haven't gotten any spritz in my two bottles.

Too spritzy to judge, even after a shake.... half hour it is calming down to show beautiful red cherry fruit - but I will hold judgement until’morrow

Wow... hi acidity, high red fruit content, High sweetness factor and yes I found it a little spritzy too, but hard to keep my hands off. Very enjoyable!

Beautiful Ganevat Gamay! Great depth in flavor notes of strawberries, hay, some spritz.

Damn, this was excellent. I rarely drink Ganevat's reds (I love the whites), but this was one of my favorites and I think showed better qpr (at $33) than a number of the other red cuvees. Definitely funky (it's Ganevat, what do you expect?) but I didn't get any spritz and it's still very much alive and kicking.

Didn't like it at all. Too stinky and natural for me. The red Ganevats have only disappointed me.

Funky nose. Dark soils and flowers. Soft and round tannins, great acidity level. No hint of alcohol. Savoury finish. Good balance. Excellent winemaking in display here. Very enjoyable bottle. Drinking now but no hurry. Last bottle of a 3-pack. Based in Jura but producing better Gamay than lots of Beaujolais producers. Should put this bottling on regular rotation list.

PnP at The Saratoga. Effervescence and barnyard to start leads to pretty gamay flavors. Might be better in a couple years. 13.5%

Smell of barnyard. Not a lot of fruit and spritzy.

Decanted at Aster. No SO2. Some carbonation. Better as it warmed up but more of a funky curiosity than a complete wine. 13.5%

Slight petillance the first 15 mins in glass. Ripe black and red fruits follow, earthy and slightly meaty. Moreish wine with hint of natural wines astringency but nevertheless steady and robust throughout. Smooth tannin, combination of youth and well-read depth

Sexy indeed. Musky, slight petillence, juicy ripe red and black fruits, earthy, moist, funghi, floral. Concentrated but light and on the sweet end. Delicious and moreish. Great on its own or with food.

Alas, fat woman on the label instead of naked woman. Wax sealed top. At home. Poured half of bottle into decanter. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is not clean, medium intensity, with aromas of funky earth, Chinese herbs, decomposing banana skin, leathery meat, mixture of sweet bright red cherries and dark berries. Youthful. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), easy-going medium- tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet bright red …

Funky nose, mostly dark soils with tiny bit of flowers. Intense nose. Just like previous bottle, delicious from get go. Mainly Gamay (50%) with mixture of various grapes. All fruits driven at the moment, some very sweet dark plums and smooth tannins. Texture wise, more like a Gamay/Pinot Noir. Good length and complexity with excellent balance. ABV 13% without any trace of alcohol. Great drink even without pairing with any food. Should really look out for more of this bottling. …

50% Gamay from Fleurie, Syrah from Cote Rotie, Mondeuse from Savoie, Pinot Noir from Alsace - from Merchant. Funky and intense nose, better nose than Y'a bon the Canon if not as floral. Gamay no longer dominated the nose. Sweet and smooth on entry, light with tannins on mid-palate, does not have the length and complexity of Y'a bon but good balance. Interesting and satisfying drink. ABV 13%. With air, this improves in the glass. Showing really well on the …
