A wine that never disappoints with a full body and complex bouquet of Golden Delicious apple, orange blossom, and lychee nuts on the attack and a finish of apple baking spices, lanolin, lemon curd and cream. A glycerine feel glides across the palate providing weight and richness. Layers of flavor that deliver with every sip. Both this and the Antica Terra Chardonnay drain quickly with the edge given to the Antica Terra. Made from 100% Roussanne. 13.5% alc. With cheeses …

Paired with herb-roasted chicken, sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Medium light body, fresh nose, vibrant flavor and good acidity and tropical finish. This is my first California Roussanne and I will certainly look for more from Stolpman. Nice work!

Not Your Average Varietal (Amy & Scott's) : A small pour at a tasting. This was surprisingly simple and inoffensive. Typically, Roussanne is complex and provocative.

Will's Birthday (Local Wine Kitchen, SF) : Roussanne from Sashi Moorman. Chardonnay-like. Rich and viscous, with oak and strong acidity to balance it out. There's a hint of bitterness, but it's not phenolics like I'd expect from Marsanne - it seems to be normal bitterness from oak aging. Well-integrated oak. It's like a rich California Chardonnay but more mineral and non-fruit driven. Stones, stained wood furniture, refined nutty integrated wood. Long. This is great stuff. Score: Around 9.

Drank at a restaurant as a pop and pour, and consumed fairly quickly. A modestly expressive nose of stone fruits, medium body and finish. This wine exhibited plenty of cut but was by no means was the acidity searing. I've had middling success aging the wines big brother (L'Avion) with some hits and some going down the drain. My inclination would be to drink in the next couple years while still fresh.

Second time I have had a Stolpman Roussanne, the first being the L'Avion several weeks ago. The nose here is buttery with lemon, honey, pears, a little apple. The palate is much the same and is quite rich, the buttery impact coming across as vanilla. The acidity well balanced, I drank this a more on the chilled side, which helped its overall demeanor.

WIML92 Tasted non blind. Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of lemon spritz, hint of vanilla and talc. Flavors of ambrosia, lemon and brandied pears. Medium acidity, medium to full bodied. Drink now.

Lemon, pear, pineapple, almonds, cream, and medium acidity on medium long finish. Better 2nd day. A little disjointed at first, but much better integrated day 2. Nice offering for the price. Fun to taste Rhone whites from Central Coast

Medium-plus intensity aromas show white flowers atop of apple, pear, white fig and lemon verbena scents, layered with apricot, brioche, vanilla, butterscotch, nutmeg and clove. Rich on the palate featuring flavors of baked apple, lemon marmalade, orange blossom, white fig, vanilla, baking spices, creme brûlée and apricot. Acidity and alcohol are medium-plus. Long on the expressive finish which highlights the baking spices of clove and nutmeg with butterscotch. Overall weighty and fleshy that drinks more like a well oaked and …

Layered with citrus and minerals that make for a robust white.

Really nice wine. Some citrus, pear, stone fruit, almond, vanilla and floral notes on the nose. All that and some herbal and minerality on the palate. Medium+ body, high acidity. Fairly long finish of citrus, almond, pear, vanilla. Nice texture, well balanced, good complexity. Loved it!

Normally not a fan, but had a good and interesting nose. Good balance, more crisp and less viscous than many of the others I have tasted. I did like this style. It was nicely balanced. More to my taste than most of the French versions.

Really great qpr and was perfect with yesterdays warm weather evening. Nose of honeysuckle, apricot jam, white and yellow flowers. This was not overwhelmed by oak and stayed light and delicate. Plenty of stone fruit on the palate.
