At seventeen years, the important fill level and cork were in ideal condition, as were the foil and label. This may be at the end of its prime drinking window as it’s starting to show its age, slightly, and should be consumed over the next few years. Consistent with earlier tasting notes, except starting to show its age a bit, taking on a bit of slight camphor alcohol sharpness on the finish … , Deep dark opaque purple color - …

Still huge, but has gained finesse with age. I was really impressed with how well this one has aged. Dark fruits dominate and the tannins have pretty much melted away. We had with chili, but I kept wishing we had paired it with a juicy steak!

Consistent with earlier review notes, "this 2007 vintage '9' is dark, big, full bodied and concentrated. It is not as complex or polished as some of the other vintage releases. In addition to the black berry fruits accented by mocha, tobacco and leather, there is a layer of graphite in this that has a slight edge that tends to detract from the fruit." https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2020/07/big-napa-cabs-and-9-for-4th-of-july.html

Outstanding nose and a delight to drink. Some blackberry tones and beautifully balanced and silky. Exceptionally nice, and despite being 13 years old was drinking perfectly. Unusually for a wine of this age, contained almost no sediment. A brilliant wine. Really wish I had more!

Beautiful. Candied with vanilla on the palate. Rich and chewy — very enjoyable. Score [ 50 + 5 + 14 + 17 + 8 ] = 94

Dark rich red wine with red fruits , spices and vanilla. Its got some structure but is no longer the flavor bomb i remember and is losing ground to its intended version- While I like this version better and would like it to soften up even more , bombers - drink it now before it loses any more clout

Huge fruit laced with fresh vanilla. If better integrated could have been a much higher score. But pow! Fantastic wine especially for the price!

Tasted double blind. Fragrant, fruity and perfumed nose. Palate is full of dark fruit, nearly port-like. Finishes juicy and hot. It was clear it was from Australia and while a somewhat stereotypical wine, it's well made.

I used to drink Aussie Shiraz all the time, but backed off for a while as I gravitated more toward California Cabs and Zins. When I drank this with friends, it reminded me why I love to drink Aussie Shiraz. BIG & BOLD. Deep hues here, and plenty of dark fruit. Blueberry & blackberry dominate, with a little vanilla and black currant. Some oak too, but nothing overpowering. Great length, well balanced, and still some solid (though not overpowering) tannins. …

A nose of spicy dark fruit, dark blackish purple in color. A full bodied bold Shiraz, with blueberry, blackberry, with minerals and spice, good length, a solid wine not as perfect as the 2005 vintage.

Full bodied and delicous flavors without being too over the top. Some added depth compared to cheaper similar wines justifies its pricepoint. Just some bitterness on the palate keeps this from being really excellent and that might settle down with time. At this time, however, I preferred previous vintages.

Very enjoyable and not so over the top as previous vintages .. this one has actually decent balance and structure and isn't so jammy. It's still an aussie fruit bomb and still has a very big dose of oak but it was enjoyable, especially since I've been over most of the big fruity jammy aussies as of late. A good deal at 19 bucks but anything over 20 I would say is to much compared to whats out there.

Color is nothing short of opaque purple. Nose is clean, medium and actually pleasantly floral. Palate is off-dry and frankly, doesn't feel all that hot, suprising. Body is high, tannins are medium, acidity is medium and feels not integrated (meaning its been added too -- but overall not overdone). The finish is medium riding a touch on its acidified note. The flavors are as suggested by the nose -- lots of primary fruit. Overall this is good wine, if a …

I used to like this wine much more than I do today. Even though the alcohol levels are down to a 'mere' 14.8%, this is still a powerful jammy, oaky monster. A very well made wine and some thing to enjoy in certain circumstances, but not my favorite fare anymore. Sexy and sweetish. Huge oak and huge fruit. www.austinbeeman.com
