Some nice bramblely fruit but a harsh tannic edge (improved after a fair bit of air; First sip still better than the last due to the edge; Throwing quite a bit of sediment

Bottle variation? This is the most cohesive effort yet. Ripe dark cherries, fennel seed, a whiff of warm barnyard air on a sunny day in the meadow, and black tea, and prosciutto, all with a hint of baking spice. A sunny, dry day wine, like siting in a meadow. I wish it had just a touch more acidity... this is happy wine, happy happy, simple no worries. relax.

Seems to be getting better, or bottle variation. this one is full and earthyherby, with sweet dark cherry, perhaps? a touch less acidic than previous, but with a good funkymud coming through.

Color is clear medium and ruby. A bit dull actually. Nose is clean, medium intensity and shows rasinated fruit character to me. And some spice. Palate is dry, medium acidity, medium tannins with the body's fruit being slightly lower than both. Flavors are as nose would suggest. Finish holds its acid and tannin structure. Needs some time to broaden. However, given the rasinated fruit character I can't see it developing nicely further. Overall good quality, drink now.

This is pretty good this time 'round. Paired well on day one with fusilli in a braised short rib meat sauce... and on day 2 with mussels steamed in white wine, fennel, shallot, cherry tomato.

• Nose: Cherry pit, black olive, sun dried tomato, geranium, amaro spices, myrhh. Gamey!!! • Palate: Rich, yet bitter. An incredible fusion of the sun drenched Maremma and the depth/austerity of Montalcino.

The everyday drinking wine from the estate. Her father in law is apperently a very important person in the Morellino. This is pure estate fruit of 60 hecares. 85% Sangiovese, 15% Alicante and Malvasia Nera. Earthy, somewhat reductive note to the nose. Barnyardy with with a crush cherried medicinal note underneath. And a touch intriguing. "Animal" the room says. Full on the palate but not out of character for the grape. Leather musky texture. Fun for all that. Not bad …

Ruby-red. Shy nose with red cherries and green olive. Mid bodied, round with soft tannins and moderate acidity. Medium-length finish. Versatile and food friendly but nothing special.

Deep ruby colour, some purple at the rim. Lots of blackberry aromas. Medium bodied with juicy fruit and smooth tannins. Medium finish with some spicy undertones.

One of the worst bottles of wine I have ever had and it wasn't even flawed. This is my second try with same results brought this to a get together and we all decided to just pour it out.
