Always a treat. I can’t believe this is my first time checking in on this in a decade. It seems to have barely moved. This looks undrinkable — brown as dirt. The nose shows honeyed fruit notes. The palate still has some stone and tropical fruit, but honey and gingerbread dominate the profile. Luscious sweetness is balanced with bracing acids, but this does drink sweet and little sips go a long way. The finish lasts until the next sip. Amazing …

Tasted double blind. This was my first encounter with a sweet wine from SQN and this was a more than convincing performance. At this point in the evening I already had stopped taking notes. This had a dark orange/brownish color, showed fully mature with many similarities with a well aged, 60 years old Sauternes with lots of malt aromas, beautiful fresh fruit core. Dena's Birthday Dinner with Mom at Il Palio. 375ml bottle #59 of what I believe was a production of 504 half bottles. Dark red amber in the glass and every bit as good as I remember the bottle we had about 6 years ago. If it has aged any in those 6 years it is nearly imperceptible. Sine Qua Non Night @ Domaine (Domaine Wine Storage - Chicago, IL) : Very sweet, with lots of peach, mango, and pears. The palate was just outrageously dense and sweet. Would have been better if there was any trace of acid on the finish.

Tasted at a charity event (GGFAGC/11). This wine was fantastic. I love SQN stickies and the Inamorata lived up to expectations. Very deep amber in colour with a strong nose of both honey and maple. The wine itself is very thick to drink and unbelievably light on any alcohol. I could drink these all day (if I had any). Actually a 98+.

Great Grapes for a Great Cause SQN Tasting -- 2nd Annual (Le Paradou, Washington DC) : wow. this was remarkable. could pass for an aged sauternes, honey, peach, apricot -- botrytis! incredible viscosity but also an incredible acidity that balanced the sugar and kept the palate fresh. looooooooong finish.

Dinner at Steve & Barb's house with Bob C. WOW! Not many wines can make a Zind Humbrecht Gewurz SGN look subtle and understated but this pulled that off with ease! Orange to amber in color, this Roussanne based elixir seemed almost hyper-sweet, in the way that a ZH SGN Trie Speciale is. G7 (Jeff) : Burnt orange in color. Oranges, honey, pineapple and apricots. The consistency of 10W30 motor oil. This wine could definitely double as a syrup for pancakes. Great depth. Beautiful, bright acidity with a knockout finish that lasts for minutes. Made from 100% Roussanne. 7.8% alcohol.

Drank for our fifth anniversary at Mille Fleurs. Beautiful, deep amber color (looked like a Sauternes with 20 years on it). Heady aromas of apricot, crushed flowers, and a bit of funk that was a good thing. On the palate this was incredibly balanced, despite the technical numbers (over 300 grams of sugar per liter of acidity if I remember correctly).
