Sutter Home Winery Pinot Grigio

A second "gifted" bottle from my sadistic progeny (another magnum!). I hadn't had Sutter Home in 30+ years, and thanks, kids, for reminding me why. "Ode to a Forgotten Wine" Grapefruit and grass--a little Sauvignon Blanc-y But something's not right--the balance is wonky. Descriptors abound of the types that are plonk-y Like piss not of cat, but that of a donkey. (Like most of the descriptors that are written about wine, no, I've never actually tasted that. Or "sous-bois." Or …

Very pleasant with crackers and cheese. The bottle says it is between medium dry and medium sweet that pretty much Puts it in the class of wines that you open to enjoy with popcorn and mild cheese or with herring. Very easy drinking and at two for 11 bucks I’ll buy more!
