Still tight but delicious. Rocky, purple grippy fruit and lots of structure. I might wonder if it will ever open, but I think it will... Still upside.

I've been enjoying this wine over the last couple of days. I don't drink much Beaujolais, but I tend to like wines from Morgon. This one has a solid amount of fruit and depth, and their is a slight earthy edge to it. Despite being 11 years old, it seems pretty youthful. A nice change of pace, and a wine that makes me think I should be buying a few more from Morgon, like Foillard, etc.

I really want to like Grange Cochard wines, but somehow they don't seem to hit the spot for me - possibly because they need a good deal of patience. More approachable that the 2009s here. Old vines but yields (upper 40s per hectare) are not as low as oner might expect. 87 for now, more to come?

Well-stored since release. Popped and poured the 1st night, but found it to be still quite closed and stemmy. My first thought was that this was over the hill, but others drink these with decades of age, and so I let it sit for 4 more nights, trying a little each night. And indeed, it got better with each evening -- the last two nights were excellent. I won't open the next one for 5-10 more years.

Was surprised at how young this was tasting. Was a still kind of tight at the beginning but mellowed a bit with some time in the decanter. The tannic structure is there for further aging. Was a bit better with food than it was on its own. Not quite as much acidity as I was hoping but was definitely enjoyable.

Similar to before, though of course the purple-ness of the fruit is faded and replaced by a more pungent granite scent, with sappy candied fruit clinging nicely. Very good once again, and ought to be good for at least another decade.

Interesting wine, medium bodied (heavy for a Beaujolais) lots of acid and decent fruit so a bit unbalanced, tasted like a pinot noir as it lacked that Gamay twang, my taste must be changing as this wine tasted like a recent Chalone PN and DDO PN. Is it me or the bottles. I will test my taste with some more bottles of PN. Drank with swordfish. Have another bottle so will drink again. I would not hold on to this …

Absolutely perfect for Christmas prime rib dinner. Decanted for two hours. Did not take detailed notes, but remember how fresh and unimposing it was. Great fruit that held its own. Look forward to tracking over the next 20 years or so.

Heavy for a Beaujolais, but it slowly opened up, a bit grapey which is unusual for a Beaujolais, still a good wine, the fruit is good and it is balanced, it just lacked acid to keep jt lively, maybe it is over the hill, drank with pork fajitas, have 2 more bottles so will drink again.

Popped and poured, youthful dark purple/ruby hue, exceptionally deep for Beaujolais (even Cru). Somewhat reticent aromas of cherry, under-ripened raspberry, blue fruits, herbaceous green (fresh dill??) and subtle florals. Admirable concentration for the appellation and vintage. On the palate, this shows a decent core of red fruits, earth and an impression of minerals along with decent acidity and a strong underpinning of chewy, somewhat chalky tannins. An extremely powerful expression of Côte du Py, made in a true vin de …

Tasted a couple months ago. Really bright and engaging, though very youthful wine. Glossy and electric red and purple fruit, mineral, and some green herbs. Very, very good. I'll try my next bottle after another 1-2 yrs.

VG Cru Beaujolais from Morgon; fruit and acid well blended with some terroir mixed in; medium bodied which is heavy for a Beaujolais; will drink again.

Cellar Plan Beaujolais Tasting (Berry Bros & Rudd) : Strongly perfumed with aromatic cherries catching the eye. By contrast the palate was slightly ungenerous with limited substance and texture.

Cellar Plan Beaujolais Tasting (Berry Bros & Rudd) : Not as obviously pleasing as the "Charmes" cuvee of the same vintage with only limited fruit. Howevr, it has a structure which suggests real promise for the future. One to keep for a while I think.

Doesn't taste like in a pinot (imho), but does taste like what it is: a very serious beaujolais. One to serve to someone who thinks the varietal is not worth considering. Will improve with a couple years, but really impressive now.

Opened one hour in advance. Deep, rich aroma of black fruits and vanilla. Full flavors of of boysenberry and spice. Tart finish. Burgundian in style, with all that implies: depth, delicacy, complexity, balance. I tasted this on opening and it was fruity and full for about 30 seconds and then went tight as a drum. With some air time it opened up, but it still is holding back. All of which implies that Mr. Gilman's start date of 2016 is …

Really aromatic floral nose; reminds me of violets. The power of aroma is not replicated on the palate, it's much softer and gentle with pure raspberry fruit, almost a little raspberry yoghurt note at times. A little it of grip and a hint of oak on the finish.
