Pretty good. Tannins a bit rough but the ripeness of the fruit wasn't to the extreme. Seems petite syrah like. Drink. Give it some air like 2 hours.

ABV: 14.1%. 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Sangiovese, and 10% Petite Sirah. Upon opening, the nose exhibited espresso and vanilla (heavy toasted oak?), but dissipated after a few hours to reveal black and dark red fruits (think plums, cassis, black cherries, etc.) balanced with roasted herbs and leather. Soft and silky on the palate, there's very little noticeable tannins with well-integrated acidity to lift the fruits, carrying them over to the very lengthy finish. At approximately 26-years-old, this wine held up …

Still enjoyable. I wouldn't hold much longer unless you truly enjoy the tertiary with or, the longer you wait, without fruit.

From 750. Consistent with previous tasting, from magnum. Good cork, didn't need Ah so. Actually looked darker than the mag, with minimal bricking. Give it an hour for the old nose to dissipate. Looking at my notes, this is the fifth out of five BDs with over 20 yrs age that I have enjoyed. Those Venges are built to last!

Drinking nicely. Cab on the nose, a little more sangio on the palate, medium body. From magnum. Good color with minimal bricking. Drink up.

Beautiful nose, notes of turned earth, wet tobacco, tons of mint, crushed cherries and blackberry syrup, mushroom, coffee, incense and cedar chest. The palate is big and rich, rounded and silky, glycerol with age. Spiced cherries and fresh tobacco. The acid is a little soft but the fruit is impressive and delicious, with the tertiary nuance matching it. Finish is big and broad but a bit short, filled with meaty vanilla notes. Drink now and enjoy. Terrific wine.

Very similar notes to my last bottle after 45 minutes of air. Just a lovely aged example of a Napa red. I hadn't noted the cedar notes on the palate on the last bottle, but they are definitely present with this bottle, alongside the big smooth plum fruit. The lingering drying finish, with kalamata olive and plum notes, is mesmerizing.

Popped and poured straight out of the cellar, 57 F. Broken cork again, like every bottle more than 20 years old from this winery that we have opened in the past few years. Luckily, the wine was still in beautiful condition. Rich garnet color. Lovely nose of cherry, strawberry, smoke, rose petals, a touch of earthy funk and dried oak notes on the nose. Medium-bodied, with still velvety tannins, subtle but enjoyable acidity and well-integrated oak notes and alcohol. Fine …

For some reason not as good as the 2008s I have, which show with more freshness and energy. This bottle in particular exhibits overripe black fruit and a bit of flabbiness.

1 hour decant. Served at 60 F. Deep garnet color with just a hint of bricking. Drinks really smooth at this point, while maintaining a big fruit character. Anise, earth, dark chocolate, vanilla and blackberry fruit on the nose. Assertive plum and black cherry fruits, subtle leather and black olive notes on the palate. Alcohol and acidity well integrated at this point, slightly grippy lingering finish. A bit bigger at this point than the 97 vintage of this wine. Lovely. …

Sill lively after 25 years... Cork was raised slightly (and when I went to use the coravin, it was obvious that it was broken), so I was a bit worried about heat damage. Seems I dodged that. 1 hour decant, served in the low 60s F. Rich garnet color. Dropped a bunch of fine sediment. Lovely strawberry nose with hints of funk, smoke and rose. Lively integrated acidity, smooth full-bodied wine with a medium length grippy, drying finish. Assertive dark …

Amazing mature Napa cab with a bit of Sangiovese, fullbodied fleshy wine with gobs of black currant and blueberry fruit, with leather and cedar notes. Silky tannins and long finish. Delicious with stinky cheese! A special fromageur-affined Camembert, a Pont l'Eveque, and a brebis from the Ossau valley. On our roof garden with the Gertzes.

A very interesting Napa Valley super Tuscan blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Sangiovese, and 11% Petit Verdot. The 1st of 4 bottles recently acquired as part of a much larger cellar contents purchase. Delicious and drinking beautifully right now, highly recommend and although this wine is not tired or fading at all there probably is no further upside to further cellaring and this is definitely a drink not hold wine at this point. Oak, tannins and acid all very …

2nd very recent bottle, very similar overall tasting notes to the 1st bottle drunk last month, even slightly better since this wine was given significantly more air - this bottle was opened 4+ hours prior to consumption and really responded to the aeration.

The Divine Kiss vintage 1999 - still a stunningly good wine, no previous experience with this vintage and absolutely delighted, holding on strong with some life still definitely left but cork definitely getting a bit crumbly - if not decanted then a filter is a good idea. Paired beautifully with coq au vin. Recently acquired 6 of these as part of a much larger cellar contents purchase and surely hope that the other 5 live up to this bottle. Fully …

Drinking superbly well at this age, a real surprise. Needed air to come around and was still drinking strong next day. Dark, surprisingly intense fruit, soft but still present tannins, some oak still present, soft mouth feel and long lingering aftertaste. At or perhaps just slightly past peak - with proper cellaring this still has at least a couple years to go before I would think a real decline starts but absolutely no upside to further cellaring - need to …

Pure dark cherry and cassis flavors with a nice, sweet smoothness coats the palate with fullness from top to bottom. Decanting for a couple of hours delivers the smoothness. There's plenty of freshness and drive across the palate and on through the lengthy finish. It seems to have filled out well since Badmonkey's 2017 review and is in a great drinking window right now.

Deep ruby, with blood garnet hue. Nose mainly of darkish prunes and cinnamon, and hints if barbecued meat. Tannins mostly resolved albeit with a slight bite, full bodied, with some black peat, and prunes, as well as some barbecue and Hoisin sauce, then graphite. Rather upfront, with at most a medium complexity the back palate. Perhaps age has caught up with it

Pretty delicious Napa cab at age 20. Very easy going. Good black cherry, leather and bell pepper. It is just pretty lip smackingly good. Knowing that it has Sangiovese in it makes me think of some delisious super tuscans. Yummy stuff.

Divino indeed!! Once the dry crumbling sawdust cork was extricated, a luscious floral complex bouquet emerged exactly what u might imagine a Divine Kiss to be. Plenty of Life at 18 years young. Much better than u might ever imagine for such a unique blend.

Lovely extraction out of the bottle leading to a somewhat muted mouth feel and finish. After an hour it opened up and mad much more in the middle so I would decant next time (I didn't because it was well past the consensus drinking window). Not terribly complex but yummy.

Recently purchased this through an online reseller of purchased collections and wasn't sure how it would turn out... I was impressed. A funky nose blew off after 15 min or so and revealed a very lively 15-yr old wine. The dominant aroma and flavor was anise, with black cherry, leather, and tobacco along for the ride. This wine constantly changed in the glass as I couldn't decide if the 64% cab or 25% sangiovese was the dominant component. Textured yet …

Has plenty of life left. Big black cherry and currant fruit and a good acid structure. Finished about half the first day, then vacuvin'd and reopened after a few days. On reopening, fruit has faded just a bit, but showing many more secondary leather and herbal notes. I don't think this is close to done.
