70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Meunier, from the village of Jouy. Barrel fermented. Dosage of only 2 grams per liter. Medium golden colour, with very fine perlage. Floral notes, ripe apple, nuts, toffee, white chocolate, toast, brioche and some smoke, with medium-fine mousse, lively acidity and very good length. Mildly bitter. Finishes mineral, chalky and dry. Good complexity. A very nice champagne that tastes different thanks to low pressure, a low dosage and a high percentage of Pinot Meunier. Drink …

Aromatic, candied lemon rind, binned apple, earth and creamed nut nose. Big flavours; great replays. Long, complex finish. 4.5/5

Turkey BBQ weekend, late Oct 2017: dark amber color; medium perlage; intense green apple; strong, well-integrated acid on the palate; medium body; very long finish. Great Champagne from one of the smaller estates. Appellation is Premier Cru a Jouy-les-Reims.

The Grower Champagne Tasting (TEI Athens) : This one has more Pinot Noir and it shows with the nose being rounder, with riper fruit, citrus, some coffee notes, candied fruit, nutty and apple notes. The palate is round, ripe fruit with pear and stone fruits more obvious, a bit higher acidity and med finish

Light straw yellow. Bouquet of lemon/lime/citrus, brioche and yeast. Razor-sharp acidity and mineral chalkiness abound here. Decent fruit coming through with nice clarity and presence. A little oaky yet; perhaps could use more time to integrate that and soften the acids a bit. All in all, pretty nice and notably better than the NV Thierry Massin that preceded it.

Ripe white and yellow fruit nose with crystallized lemon, fresh herbs, strawberries and slight coffee touch. Dry medium bodied palate with refreshing acidity and smooth creamy moussé. Sweet ripe lemon notes, hints of tropical fruit, strawberries. Citric crispness and toasty notes towards the lengthy finish. Not as good as the 2003. The green character of the vintage clearly shows, but somehow it's not that integrated with the ripe fruit and citric freshness. Still decent fun.

96 Perfecto. Amarillo dorado brillante. Nariz de escándalo de frutos secos y mantequilla. En boca se muestra muy joven aún, sabroso, largo, crujiente. Un maravilloso vino.

Enticing nose with white fruit, pitahaya, white chocolate, toffee, chalk and slight cucumber peel. Dry and racy palate with smooth moussé and citrusy freshness. Slightly bitter and powerful mid-palate leading to a long finish with some fun interplay between the sweetishly toasty and refreshingly zesty sides of the wine. A rather charismatic personality. 2003? Seems way fresher.

Took to a champagne tasting for a friend, no formal notes. Enjoyed this bottle for a forward styled champagne, and decent for the price paid.
