A well rounded hermitage in a leaner style. Not green, just a bit less rich. Very enjoyable and can be paired with red meat dishes without a concern it will overpower in its youth. More violet and floral than meaty, will remain a mid weight hermitage. Has decades to go, but tasting balanced now. Drink or hold to 2030.

Delas Hermitage Masterclass with Steven Spurrier (Handford Wines, London) : Color showed age and we approached this testign vintage with caution but in general the wine felt wrong and off. We believe this was a bad bottle.

Still drinking ok. Peppery nose. Probably downhill from here I think.

I understand this wine has now changed its name to Hermitage Domaine de la Tourette. Anyway, a wonderful wine despite a bleak year/vintage. A bit shy on the nose, but I could detect dark berries (blackberry, plums) pepper and particulary tobacco. Now, Hermitage is known for its Power and "masculinity", but what struck me was the balance and harmony. 2nd Gastronomy Fair 2014; 3/30/2014-3/31/2014 (Intercontinental Hotel) : Clear ruby color. The nose is clean, med intensity, ethereal complexity, a bit heady, quite flowery, red fruit with currant, strawberry, berry, with black currant as wel as smoked notes, smoked meat, leather, clove, nutmeg, saddlewood, jam, youthful. The wine is dry, med body and intensity, med alcohol and acidity, grainy and drying med+ tannins, red fruit, balanced, black pepper, clove and nutmeg, a bit of alcohol bite in the med+ finish. …

Delicious wine sporting cherries, new cut wood, some meaty aromas and fine fruit. Started out with unripe fruits and hard tannins but mellowed well with aeration. L tannin, M++ acids, M body. Hollow mid-palate and delicious finish. Clean style and went fabulously well with Italian food. Non-blind. Decanted 4 hrs. Had at La Verdura (Yokohama). Wife agrees on the score. We hold good hopes for the final btl in ~2020.

Really lovely Hermitage that is mid weight and strikes the perfect balance between fruit and savoury elements. There are notes of ripe berry fruits, freshly polished leather, cracked black pepper and cedar. It is the type of wine that marries well with a nice rib eye but would be equally at home with some aged cheddar. It has round tannins and good acidity.

Couleur relativement claire qui semble déjà légèrement évoluée. Nez expressif de fruits rouges avec une pointe animale (cuir) mais également sanguin et épicé (cannelle, poivre). En bouche, la puissance est contenue avec des tanins fins et de la souplesse qui en font un vin prêt à boire. Hélas, pas tellement de persistance en bouche mais le plaisir est tout de même là. Je n'oserais pas encaver ce vin. C'est un cadeau donc je ne parlerai pas du rapport qualité prix. …

Œil : rubis moyen, opacité 4/10, viscosité plutôt forte en parois Nez : presque muet à l'ouverture, sinon des notes végétales et minérales, il a donné le meilleur de lui-même dans l'intervalle entre 60 et 120 minutes après sa mise en carafe. Sur trame végétale et séveuse, il a offert des notes de fruits noirs amers (type groseille) et de cacao, d'une certaine fraîcheur, évoluant continuellement (intéressant), une touche de poivre vert très léger, sans plus.
