Not sure what to make of this wine. Lots of butter and oak, almost too much. After a decant and a night back in the bottle, the fruit started poking out. Golden yellow color and a rich, long finish. But, it was just a bit out of balance for me.

Had a Big Bottle of this vino, most likely an 'O9, at Hinman and Carmichael's holiday gathering at the University Club in SF. Nebs, Jers, etc. almost all reds of course. And then there was the Dunstan. Made the way that we non purists like-- much toast and butter beautifully integrated with the fruit from one of the great Chard vineyards. Super rater/noter Richard Jennings predictably voted the other way. But he rarely has to buy his wines for supper, …
