Garnet, almost opaque. Very powerful aroma of roasted meat, bacon fat, mocha, black cherries and plums, complex. Full-bodied flavors to match, deep, concentrated, very viscous, a touch of bitterness and some heat, even though alcohol is 13.8%. The flavors are very dense and concentrated, the finish is extremely long, just keeps going. Not at all tannic, has good acidity. Perfectly drinkable now but should easily last another ten years or more. I'll wait a couple more years to drink the …

Bought two of these on offering and have been taken aback by the unflattering reviews. Opened one yesterday to consider serving to a dinner party with a menu of Vietnamese style flank steak and other Vietnamese styled sides. Opened a 4:00 and decanted through an aerator. After two and a half hours poured back into the bottle. A small sample tasted on opening was a bit closed, with typical Cayuse funkiness on the nose and suppressed fruit. Time and air …

Did not like this. Decanted two days and tasted several times. Still had wet rock taste. Acid up front. No fruit present. Noticed recommended 2025 starting drink date after I opened. Hope those of you who have this in your collection have better luck.

Opened and let breather for a couple of hours. I could smell the mushroom and funk from my wife's glass across the table. The nose never really settled but we are used to this from Cayuse wines. This is not a typical Walla Walla Syrah but was very good. The smells and flavors are what makes Cayuse unique and this blend is no different. Wine is balanced and drinking very nicely.

Needed to clear this out to make room for new arrivals. I’m just not very enthusiastic about Cayuse these days. Might be the funkiest Cayuse I’ve had with some real nastiness that almost turns your stomach on the nose. This does eventually blows off (2-3 hours decanting) but remains green and feral all around. Plenty of nice dark fruit and mineral here but just overpowered by funk. It’s young and needs time but that sums up my impression on almost …
