Opened but not decanted 2 hours before drinking. The south facing vines in the El Carril vineyard are 26-36 years old. 100% Tinto Fino. Deep purple color. This was very rustic with a burnt fruit quality. 85 points.

Hmmm, I didn't know I had this in the cellar. Popped as an addition to kebabs, this sat on the counter for a few hours. Moderate at best, it certainly blossomed into an Old World table wine with air. Dark fruit, dusty cellar and dried red fruit and herbs. At first pop, 84-86, with air, 90.

4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Rick's & Cris') : Notes of forest floor, black fruit and vanilla. No fruit on the attack with plum and black fruit qualities coming in on the midpalate and finish. There's a harshness to the finish that I do not care for. Meh.

Very dark in the glass, black fruit on the nose. I got some maple or bacon almost as well. Don't know what that was about. Good full mouthfeel, rich tasting. Immediately after the first sip, I wanted more. It got better with a bit of air, but still fine to PnP. I haven't had many Ribera del Douro's, but so far, I like it. As someone else said, it almost had some cabernet qualities. I'll definitely seek this out again, …

This was a decent flavorful wine, but the thing I'll remember most about it was how it improved second day.

4th Saturday Group (Mike's & LA's) : Aromas of pomegranate, raspberry and black fruit with a dusty undertone. Flavors of blue and black fruit, with a mineral-tinged finish. Red and black fruit as it sat; cool climate fruit. Guessed Sonoma Cab Sauv.

Popped and poured, but would reward air time. Aromas of blackberry, plum, smoke, chocolate, espresso and dried herbs. Blackberry, black plum and chocolate on the palate with firm, gripping tannins. Leads to a medium to long finish. Velvety rich texture. Full bodied. Good QPR.

nose: blueberry and raspberry. A little latte, brown sugar, and generally fruity. Taste: very dry, medium body, smooth, coffee latte, blueberry and cassis. A little incense, cherry and cherry pit. Very easy drinking because it is smooth but it lack depth.

Nose: big nose, very fruity! Blueberry, blackberry, currant jam, molasses, hint of shaved cedar. Taste: dry, medium body. Black fruits: blackberry and blueberry, ripe blue plum, dried black currants. Quite smooth, nice blue plum skin and blackberry seed tannins. Very fruit focused, in a fresh way (not juicy way). Smooth but lack of richness though. 86.

Consistent with last bottle. Massive fruit when first opened, better depth with some air.

Amazing QPR at $11. Mid weight without the harsh edge you often get w/ low end Ribero del Dueros.

I like this representation of tempranillo. Meets a nice middle ground between a Toro and Rioja. Great QPR.

A nice mouth filling red. Lots of fruit, spice, black coffee on the nose and pallet. Hard to beat for the $$.

Dark crimson, black cherry and smoky "stemy" notes on the nose, char and dark fruit on the attack but settles down to more primary berry fruit, finish is a bit green with cherry and blackberry fruit mixed in

Deep color. The nose shows tobacco leaf, earth and dark red fruits in a rustic way. On the palate, this is medium full bodied with ok concentration and decent class. This is a bit rigid, and it finishes with only a bit of length. A rustic and fresh wine for immediate consumption.
