Bottled in 2001. This bottle under cork since April. Last glass, keeping its tight posture. This is to be enjoyed from a restrained and ultra balanced POV. Still rather young with the fruit remaining prominent. A bit of Oloroso nuttiness. Darn delicious! Has ample upside for the 50-year (or more) timeframe. Absolutely no stress to plop.

The acidity is just perfect in combo with the restrained sweetness. What is not to love about this megabomb of plethoric aromatics? This is the scheisse of greatness!

A first night 94 points is a very good performance. Quite swollen fruit towards youthful and a bit more sweetness than anticipated. Very well balanced and long. Stupendous richness of character and complex aromatics. Can't wait for the next bout :-)

Really enjoyed this, as did the three others I shared it with. Will definitely be on the lookout for more.

A nice port. Light body with heavy alcohol on the nose. Orange color with a light green rim Lots of caramel on the forward taste transitioning to nuts and orange. Lacks fruit and more in the Madeira style than a classic Tawny. Medium length finish. Honestly, the $10 Seppelt DP 30 is a better Tawny port at 1/10th the cost. Had second tasting fo the same bottle 2 days after opening....it has a much more mellow flavor with fruit finally …

These notes are just after opening the bottle. The color is a very light carmel and orange with a hint of green in it. The nose has some VA and hints of oak, slight toffee, and a faint herbalness to it. On the palate it is very rich and just explodes in the mouth and has waves of toasted almonds, glycerin, a touch of cedar and vanilla. Unfortunitly, the finish loses some of that compexity and is not super long, …

Dried pears, apricots, whiff of nutmeg. Pure silk in the mouth, no edges or heat, just goes and goes. 45+ seconds finish.

30 YEAR OLD... GOLD MEDAL/TROPHY WINNER for the Best Port Wine at the 2001 International Wine & Spirit Competition in London. A decadently delicious wine with mature full fruit and nut flavors. Very complex with an incredibly long finish This must be the best Tawny I have ever tasted
