Really hot the first day- gassed and set aside. Came back 2 days later and really good. That’s today’s rating. Maybe we should have opened hours before on first pour. Loved it tonight

Coravined. Not so deep rosy ruby color. Red currant, pomegranate, and subtle soy sauce. Very dry, smooth palate. Firm tannins on the long finish. Tasted this with my friend Ian at the winery. It was very shy. Absolutely needs a two hour decant. It was hard to judge this, so take my notes with a grain of salt.

This PN shows a lot of winemaking techniques I ordinarily do not like. But instead of angering me, it presents as more of a charming time capsule. The baby boomer generation actually made an ageable PN. Wow! Juniper berries, allspice, orange peel, cedar, smoke, vanilla, macerated red cherries and macerated raspberries on the nose. Smells much younger than 22, with a high intensity of aromas. The new French oak influence is obvious, which gives this an especially "early 2000s" feeling. …

Red berries and cherry, but already baked. A little bit of fugue. Dry herbed and subdued spices. Overall subtle but quite complex. Very fine tertiary - soy sauce/pickles?. Surprisingly intense and long palate, disarming freshness

Right out of the bottle this wine was absolutely stellar. Perfect body and silky, long finish with complementing freshness. My dinner companion and I were stunned by the beauty of this wine. However, after a couple hours it appears to loose much of the stellar palate - not sure if it was because of the food pairings or the Beaune we compared it too.

Still wound up a bit on PNP. Red cherry & sous bois. Has relaxed and opened up quite a bit on second day. Some rose petal and a hint of rooibos tea. A nice citrusy note on the finish.

Despite my last tasting note, we drank this bottle within a month of the last one and had a very different experience. Loads of layered flavors of raspberry and cherry with notes of pine and other forest scents along with a bit of rosemary and lavender. No smoky taste , even though all 3 bottles we had received were from the same case.

A really good wine, except… It had a very noticeable smokiness to it that detracted from what I have experienced in the past with Beaux Freres wines. The depth and complexity were there but were competing for attention. I think I’ll wait a while before drinking my last bottle.

Same as the other bottles I’ve had. Very nice Burgundian style Pinot. Smooth with dark fruit and strawberry, earth and nice acidity. Good acidity, suggests it can age longer too. Very nice.

I agree with DAVED. I believe wine reviews sometimes get bumped in points because of a big bump in price. Either that, or this wine, while excellent, isn't worth its price point.

Dinner at Gramercy Tavern with work colleagues. Brought a 3L from my cellar, decanted by the somm 3 hours in advance. Dark, translucent ruby color. Nose showing dark red fruits, earth notes, rose hip. Palate was black raspberry, cranberry, black tea, Christmas spice. Red fruits, cranberry through the mid palate. Elegant texture. Medium body, medium/long finish. Really great showing, went well with a seasonal tasting menu at GT. Large format aging nicely, I was probably a bit early on this. …

Popped and poured. Black cherry with raspberry leaf and creamy parsley/cilantro in the glass. Followed in the mouth by a solid core of concentrated red berries. Persistent but primary and lacking in complexity. Creaminess and minerality cancelling each other out. A 'right down the middle' Pinot Noir with a lousy QPR. Good enough pairing with pan roasted duck breast with a blueberry reduction but best to move on, nothing much to see here.

Really enjoying these. Darker color but lighter weight, nice nose, not deep but has a long finish. I get a typical BF profile here. I think the Ribbon Ridge wines are some of the best in the Willamette Valley.

Distinct green notes which eventually blew off after a two hour decant and more time in the glass. At that point, a typical BF wine was revealed. Don't know what happened in 2017, but this is the third bottle with the same results. More stems, immatue grapes? Not pleasing to me.

Color has life with amber shade. Sweet strawberry nose hint of passing funk, sherry. Taste is palate coating ripe, off sweet and fresh fruit edge of acidity. Who am I to ascribe a score to a 20-year-old Oregon Pinot that mocks time?
