No nose, taste was sharp and unpleasant and even that dissipated in no time on the tongue... Length was non existent. Left half the glass on the table and wouldn't touch it again with a barge pole!

Okay, so it's eleven bucks or so. You DO get what you pay for, and in this case, maybe a bit more. BUT...you gotta drink it with food.

You get what you pay for I guess. Dry red with no obvious fruit; instead layers of a hard bitter character and a cooked varnish-like fruit. Really hard to see the appeal.

nine dollars, good match with pizza. Highly recommended montepulciano for everyday drinking. less tanic than others I have had, and moderate finish but laking complexity.

Attractive damson and dark cherry scent; very smooth palate with a barely discernable touch of spritz, lively acidity and velvety tannins. Delicious, pure, uncloying sweetness. Slightly pinched finish, the tannins pucker late but surely. Tastes (oddly and in my previous experience uniquely) better on its own than with pasta. An excellent commercial product at a quality level I would like to encounter on a more regular basis on restaurant lists and in wine bars. 87P

No great bouquet but the taste is solid. Dry, fruity, nice QPR. I've had $15 Italians that didn't stand up. Sometimes we lose sight that 85 is a pretty good score for a $9 bottle.

Italian nose. Full of cranberryish red fruits on the nose with hints of earth. Great acidity, good fruit, rustic without being dirty. A solid value and great choice for house wine.

While this wine was very easy to drink I felt it lacked the complexity that I expect from a sangiovese. Light and lacked depth with a soft finish. Hint of fruitiness but nothing spectacular. Now then, having said this, for the price it is a good 'happy hour' wine that most would enjoy, especially those first starting to experience a nice red wine which is easy to drink.

Smooth and easy however not complex. While somewhat bold it lacked a real 'fruitiness'. Not imposing at all and easy to drink. Soft finish with little or no pizzaz. Good with red meats.

Wines of Italy! (Farpointe Cellar) : The wine had a lovely candied fruit aspect that went along well with the cedar, cherry, and vanilla aromas. The palate had black currant and raspberry, and finished with coffee and a little cedar.

Another Montepulciano from Farnese. I’m sure I’ve made this statement before but a highlight for me, when wading through samples, is finding standout wines below say $15. What makes this wine so special is that it will likely trade under $9 and it blows most local industrial wines away. And it comes from a vineyard on the other side of the world.
