This turned out to be significantly better than expected. Classic nebbiolo nose with cherry, tar, floral notes, hints of red raspberry, and dusty earth. The palate is rich with thick tannins that are well integrated and plenty of fruit and flavor to balance them nicely. Overall very good. Definitely needs food.

Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2014-01; Nebbiolo (By FB) : In the bouquet earth, mushrooms, red fruits and some chocolate. On the palate a mild start with relatively a lot of sweetness, chocolate, white pepper, vanilla, soft acidity, mild tannin and acidity. A lovely wine and fully mature now and the next few years. I seriously disagree with the two low scores already in CT.

Paprika and oak on the nose. Can't believe how much the paprika comes through. On the palate there is pepper but it is so overly tannic that nothing else comes through. Not sure there is enough to this wine for aging to help. 81-83 pts.
