Our tasting group has this wine along with the 1999 Nickel & Nickel Dragonfly Vineyard cab and it was a hit. This one is bottled from a specific vineyard (State Ranch) and isn't a blended cab. 2010 was a pretty solid vintage, with "long hang time" at State Ranch. This allowed the wine to retain acidity and structure, giving it good aging potential. This explains why the wine was a hit. It had a dark ruby color, with rich aromas …

Elegance in a glass, Tim said upon tasting this. Finely and fully resolved tannins, fruit still remarkably well preserved but aged with leather and caramel tertiary flavors. We toasted to Tim's wonderful news, and of course Lennon's birthday while watching Burning Chair in Katie's back yard. Katie scored a 4/4 on country, varietal, age zone, and multiple choice bottle.

Bright fruit forward on PnP. 2 hour decant, which was not enough. Consumed over the next 1.5 hours, and the best sip was the last. Lush fruit, dried dark fruit, bramble, spice, chocolate, leather. Smooth tannins. Paired very well with filet. Drinking well now, but I don't see this falling off a cliff either. Me - 93, Wife - 92

Excellent wine - precise blackberry, black currant, and vanilla extract with subtle hints of tobacco leaf. We enjoyed the bottle on a snowy evening as Army secured a second straight victory over Navy in football. This N&N was incredibly smooth - almost velvety - and it was singing after 90 mins bottle air. I think the 2010 State Ranch has a few more years longevity; it is certainly enjoyable right now.

With 4 hours time to breath this was awesome. Big and juicy with Blue and red jammy flavors. Rich and full bodied but not heavy. Plenty of depth and a finish that lasts for 45+ seconds. Outstanding.
