A bit tired, with rubber and sour apple nose and green apple taste with medium+ acidity but feels a bit disjointed despite having only 9%. Drying and not refreshing finish. No kernel notes. Gives the impression that it didn’t have either the fruit or acidity to age and was best consumed 3-5yrs ago. 87pts

Lovely aged reisling now 12 years old. Notes of Petrol notes out of the bottle that quickly dissipate as it opens up. Notes of apple and mineral. High acid and medium body. Sugars are well maintained and wine is off dry. Long finish and should continue to age well.

A dry Riesling. Had very typical notes of petrol, beeswax and apples. Went nicely with food. This is likely to get better in time it had nice concentration of flavors and persistence

Tasting at Ezo. Decanted for 1 hour. Outstanding mature riesling, exceeded all expectations. Evolved for at least 1,5 hours more. As a special remark: HUGE, DRAMATIC difference between their basic riesling and GG.

from a .375 - at 8 years of age it is showing development and hints of maturity. The apple and pear notes are underlined with a hint of marzipan on the nose. The palate is lovely, bright with pear and peach notes, perhaps a bit more creamy than expected and the touch of almond brings brightness to the back palate. An intriguing example of a more mature GG, with the secondary notes curb the fruit and provide a darker, more …

Plenty of spritz; spangley, purposeful vitality; satin-like, finessed acidity, very well balanced, pure; finishes with aplomb. At its peak.

Tour VDP.GROSSE LAGE 2018 Vol.3 (Hotel Atlantic, Hamburg) : This estate is showing a mature sample of their GG, silky luscious stonefruit, maybe the fruit a little sweet and overripe, indicating the warm vintage, good harmony, ending long, really tasty now, drink from now on and over the next decade, ***(+ -?),

Some bitterness. Also the gas bubbles were too much for me.

Rare Wine Dinners Cellar Dinner #1 (Vamp Bistro, Five Ways, Paddington) : medium minus intensity aromas of struck match, ripe apple, slight confected notes as well as a slight meaty quality and also some very slight orange blossom. In the mouth the wine has flavours of ripe apple, slight lemon peel and citrus, very slight off dry with medium plus length. Okay but I think it needs time.

Nose of truck tires. The dragon I'm always chasing. Mineral, cantaloupe, honeysuckle on the palate. Paired with lemon cured salmon and nasturtium spring rolls.

Pale straw in color. Forward, fragrant, attractive & youthful nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, white peaches and citrus notes of lemons & limes with floral overtones of honeysuckle, minerals, slate/flinty and stony. Medium-light to light bodied with a good concentration of well balanced, youthful, unctuous, zesty/lively, ripe fruit flavors of green apples, peaches & lemons/limes with honey, stony/flinty with minerals. Long lingering crisp off-dry finish with a touch of sweetness. Drinks quite well at present but has the …

Riesling Tasting : Herbs, some kero, apricot, pineapple and spicy earth. Great salinity and acidity, the fruit tempers the acidity. I liked it more than the rest of the table.

Deep straw. Deeply earthy but classic nose; mineral, copper. Palate ultra-classic Kabinett, very long and peachy finish. Wonderful! (In my opinion, Karthäuserhof is one of the greatest producers of the MSR in terms of purity, delicacy, and transparency. I'm a big fan.) (First flight, #1/3WOTF)
