Wolf Blass, Gold Label Riesling, Eden Valley

Entering its drinking window, it is a blend of grapes from Eden Valley and Clare. Being a mongrel, it couldn’t express the regional styles and certainly, no terroir to be explored here. However, it was an enjoyable wine but one that does not leave much of an impression even the day after other than it was pleasant. Citrus, lime, lemon, it now is beginning to develop some secondary and tertiary characteristics. Drink now or 3+ years.

Classic lemon/lime palate - intense with some petrol on the nose and palate. High acidity, floral and with 'sherbet' character. Should develop. 88+

TWE 2016 Expo : Musky florals. Round palate, goes a bit too far into waxy ripeness without having the acid kick to keep it in balance.

Steely dry style with petrol grapefruit and pear. Medium sour finish with a high acidity. Fresh with good weight density.

Popped and poured. Drank over 3 hours. Nose: A bit of peach fuzz but predominantly floral and mineral notes with that slight hint of stone fruit at the end of the nose. Definitely has some clare valley characteristics to this. Taste: Dry on the palate and rather soft as well. I would have liked a bit more acid and flavour but otherwise it was a drinkable wine, perhaps this bottle didn’t show as well as some of the other TN …

Bought this in a mixed case from Invino. Not bad at all for a $10 bottle of Riesling!!

This is the first dry Riesling I've ever had, so keep that in mind when reading my tasting notes. :-) There's some nice citrus on the palate, along with some minerality. At first, I got a bit of petrol smell on the nose, but I'm not picking that up now. Plenty of acidity balances out the wine well. It was very good with some beef and jalapeño sausages. Crisp and refreshing.

Good value. Dry and aromatic, it also delivers balanced acidity and attractive minerality. Very good choice for pairing with spicy food or strong cheeses. Drink now and in the next 2-3 years.

100% Riesling fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Bright and clear. Pale lemon-green core fading to a wide watery rim, legs. The nose is clean and youthful, with medium intensity of grapefruit, lime, green apple and a presence of fresh herbs and steely minerality. Dry. ICCCW wine class (Jade Palace Forum) : Whiff of kero, lots of chalky clean dry slatish lime.

Very dry with a strong mineral current and sharp acidity offering lazer-like flavors of zesty lemon, lime and dried flowers. This really needs acidic food to provide some balance.
