Solid wine and ready to drink. Dark fruit and medium tannins. Not many other layers but it's delicious now.

It has been quite awhile since we had a Ted's Blend, but we were reminded what a relatively hidden gem this is. Its price point has never been inexpensive, but, given the vineyards from which the wine is coming, it is a relative bargain. We drank it at 10 years old, decanted, and started pouring after perhaps an hour or so. The decanter did not make it to the 2nd day, so can't comment on how a longer airing out …

Dark. opaque, purple in color. Rather tannic upon opening but becomes more balanced with 90 to 120 minutes of air. Blackberry, blueberry, white pepper and a bit of tobacco on the palate. Tannins much more integrated with a decant.

A blend largely comprised of fruit from the Bosche and Sycamore vineyards. As one would expect based on its heritage, this is a bold, structured wine requiring time to age. Dark indigo in color, the nose bursts open opening with aromas of ripe berry. On the palate, dark cherry, cassis, tobacco, green pepper, a hint of clove and walnut. This is very full bodied with a long lingering finish. Ted Edwards gets a bit more creative with the blend on …

Not my favorite of the FA non-mass produced wines.

A bit simple, not integrated, overly acidic and non extracted to me. Cab franc comes through with nice red fruit, but additional petite Verdot used to solidify seems to me to remove layers. Not a terrible wine, but just didn't work for me.
