Annual Christmas party at Caroline's : Pretty, stemmy spice-laden nose but with noticeable brett, palate had exquisite texture so my best guess was Rougeard. I thought this bottle was great. Delicate, polished and expressive fruit, with bright acidity and stemmy tannins. Aromatic and really pretty!

Yeah this was pretty delicious. Tasted like a Dujac to me. Some stem, spice, polish, and length. Enjoyed very much. 16s can be very fun to drink right now with some air.

Birthday at Art of Cellaring; 11/1/2025-11/2/2025 (Art of Cellaring San Antonio) : Served blind, I made it to "whole cluster" and was thinking northern CdN like Gevry, then gave up. This was lively and nuanced, without the coarse tannins you sometimes see in NSG. Fruit on the red end of the spectrum, quite pure. Finish was penetrated and long and stood out from the others. The 13.5kg Meiji Maguro (K&A's homeparty) : Older style still with plenty of stuffing and concentration. Needs a lot more time to open up! Not a fan of 16s in general and this was a bit too burly.

Arnoux Lachaux NSG tasting. Drank in Conterno Sensory. Appearance is clear, very pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of nicely pungent whole bunch stems with a herbal element, red cherries. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ intensity, with flavours of whole bunch spice, lightly grilled herbs, stalky elements, red cherries, red plums, raspberry, ripe strawberry, chalky minerality, animal with more air.
