Stood up for 3 weeks. Decanted gently off of fine sediment. Btw, of the remaining 1/4 glass, I poured it through a coffee filter and it took >3h for all the wine to filter through - ie there was a lot of fine sediment. Decanted in wine fridge for 3 h then another 1h at room temp as it was still tight. Started to open up 4h after decant and into bottle. Brought it to Ray's 60th birthday party. Uncorked …

Gave it an 8 hour decant and man was it good. Complex aromatics of truffle, smoke, decaying rose, soy and dried fruits. The palate is sweet and vinous, with all sorts of earthy/woodsy savoury nuance. Each sip unlocks something interesting and it is silky of texture, yet with structural support. The finish is delicate, expansive and long with balsamic lift.

wine was opened and decanted for 4 hours. the color of the wine was initially very light and i thought that perhaps it was oxidized however the nose was quite pretty and an initial taste told me the wine was fine. drank from hour 4 to hour 6. the fruit on this wine was a bit muted but had hung in there quite well over the years. astonishingly there was very little obvious oxidation. after four hours the color of …

Good dark color to start. Shows nice dark and sour cherry fruit, lifted with some mint/menthol notes. Some saddle leather, earth, and tobacco accenting well. The fruit was lively for 20-30 minutes before fading. Will take this every time from a 55+ year old.

Asparagus gang dinner at Imperial Treasure Ion. Drank over 2+ hours in bottle. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is not clear, with very fine sediment, pale intensity, garnet colour. Legs. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of mushrooms, undergrowth earth, sous bois, wet moss, bits of Barolo rose tar, and sweet caramelised red plums with air. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), completed resolved tannins, medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of mushrooms, sous bois earth, …

Very slightly translucent black cherry color – very deep and dark for a Nebbiolo this old. Exceedingly funky nose with aromas of bloody meat, grease, bundt cake, prune marmalade, dill, some dried mint, a little dark After Eight chocolate and a hint of fish feed. I guess it really gets no funkier than this. The quite full-bodied and rich palate is, however, very normal with juicy, developed and succulent flavors of dark-toned fruit, ripe cherry some wizened dark forest berries …

This took about 30 minutes to open up. In the glass, this proved to be very light red in color. Certainly on its downside, but straw and dry earth aromas were still present. The palate was similar; reticent but enjoyable earthy flavors with a moderate finish.

Nice faded crimson color. The aromas were marred by some EA, but the wine was still bright and tannic on the palate. There was some mustiness and mushroominess to the wine, but the brightness of the cherry fruit and the liveliness of the tannin precluded its being corked. An odd, off, yet still intriguing bottle.
