Reininger, Carmenere, Walla Walla Valley

A very interesting wine. Dark berries on the nose and palate with a wonderful black per 'kick' that does with the cinnamon, clovers and tannins at mid-palate. A nice finish. This will continue to show well for several years.

Walla Walla Visit, End of Summer 2009; 8/29/2009-8/30/2009 (Walla Walla, Washington) : Rich blackberries, cinnamon, spicy tannins, and a light floral note all come together when I smell the wine. Some light raspberry flavors deliver right out of the gate. Some very well balanced black pepper and clove flavors hover over a foundation of faint dark fruit. The wine is quite balanced now, and I think it will improve significantly with a little more time in bottle. Nice and interesting.
