Finish was dry as a bone.....even with 2 hours decant. Not sure about this wine.

Again, an acid-driven lighter Napa Cabernet. There's certainly some varietal character here and the oak influence is light. I liked it. I did notice a little bit of a candied note this go-around that my wife described as sweet. Otherwise, pretty decent enjoyable Napa Cabernet that's better with food than on its own as a cocktail drink.

Tasted over two days - better, more integrated on the second day. Pretty much the same as the last bottles - i.e. acid-driven, leaner expression of Napa Cabernet. I like this style, but I can certainly see someone unloading this stuff at auction and accepting a fraction of the cost (this seemed to be originally selling at $75/btl). Those who prefer a big, ripe, lush Napa Cabernet will certainly be disappointed by this.

Again, on the acidic side with more structure than fruit, at least at this point. Some good Napa Cab character, but there is no lush fruit. Not sure if this is in a dumb phase or if this even has the stuffing to fill out. I left this for extended airing in bottle with no stopper at room temperature overnight, but it did not really flesh out - it just seemed to become oxidated.

14.5% abv. Recent auction purchase. Lighter acid-driven style of Napa Cabernet. Clean and pure with no overt oak, but good Napa Cab flavor profile. Surprisingly light - lacks depth and concentration but did seem to pick up a little weight by the last glass (~ 2 hrs after opening). I actually enjoy this style quite a bit as it is a good match for many dishes, though it was a little overpowered by the BBQ pork ribs we had for …
