After nothing but disappointment from everything I've tried so far from my initial Nakedwine purchase, this one was a pleasant surprise. A periquita/tempranillo blend with good body, mouthfeel, and depth of flavor. This put to shame a Rhone-style blend we drank earlier in the evening that cost twice as much. This wine was fairly soft but still managed to have decent presence. Went okay with lamb and barley stew, even if it didn't quite stand up to it. Not fascinating …

Dark fruits on the nose along with some oak. There's even a hint of smoke there, I think. On the palate, the fruit gives way quickly to some spice and earthiness, perhaps leather or tobacco. Nice oak on the finish, with good structure from the tannins. The tannins aren't too strong, though.
