I am not one of those people who reaches for the crucifix, garlic and wooden stake at the mention of Michel Rolland's name. Nevertheless, this wine tastes pretty much exactly like you would expect it to taste knowing that Rolland consulted on a wine intended to be the winery's flagship and which is made from international grapes (Syrah, Montepulciano, Ancellota -- a new one for me, apparently used to impart sweetness to Lambrusco, which makes its application here worrisome -- …
