Domaine Beaumont, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru

Tasted during a visit to Meursault. Red berry fruit of raspberry with some plum-like features as well. Almost lactic aging notes reminding me of Roquefort. Also meaty complexity and with some aeration this also added cigar box notes. The palate with good tension and fresh acidity. A decent effort no doubt, but in the end the extraction was over the top for my liking, precision was blurry and the palate felt somewhat austere. I would definitely decant the wine at …
