Drinking beautifully - still bright mountain fruit but nicely mellowed and smooth on the finish, one more to drink from cellar/

My first of this vintage. Great nose at the pop, no decant as I was in a restaurant with a small group of friends. This was typical classic Sherwin Spring Mtn Cab. Beautiful balance of fruit, acid, and soft tannins. Had a hint of sweetness on the finish. An excellent bottle and glad I purchased a bunch of these. They will be coming out of hibernation to enjoy now.

Exactly like the other bottles except this needed just a little air to unwind. Cork was perfect and seemed a little tight on the pop and pour. These could age much longer but are exceptional now and I loved it. My previous notes still apply. Great juice and incredible QPR based on what I paid.

Spring Mountain for the win after 17 years of age. What a wonderful smooth and silky effort here with blackberry and black cherry fruit up front. Mid-palate has dark chocolate, spice, cedar, and a subtle eucalyptus note. Nice acidity, smooth tannins, and nice long finish. Great window now but no rush...love this vintage.

Powerful, chewy wine, softening after a decade and a half, but not complex. Serve with robust food to match. Improves on decanting

As the comments have indicated, this wine is past it's prime. It is still a good wine with less fruit and more tertiary notes. The flavors are more mellow and less vibrant. I have one bottle remaining and need to finish it sometime this year.

See previous notes as well but this was my third bottle with three more remaining. Just as great and consistent as the others. I really have been enjoying these. The corks look like they were bottled last week. Held its own against many wine heavyweights at a dinner.

Amazing bottle of wine. Had it a little too cold at first, once it warmed up this was absolutely phenomenal. Dark color and perfect cork. Had blueberry, blackberry, spices, and a hint of vanilla on the palate. Have four more of these and will likely look for more.

Blackberry, black cherry, and dark plum fruit. Gorgeous, silky wine right now with notes of earth, spice cracked pepper, licorice, and subtle tobacco. Nice acidity, smooth tannins, long finish. At 20 years of age this is drinking great right now and will continue to do so over the next few years.

Covolo's 2002 Napa Cab tasting (Casa Covolo) : Started off a bit tight on the nose to start that opened up as the night wore on. Notes of cassis, raspberry, dark cherry and a touch of minerals on the nose. The palate has dusty tannins, but they're nicely polished with a high-toned finish. Finished 2 of 8 in tasting of 2002 Napa cabs.

As several posters noted, just a great smooth bottle of delicious Cabernet. Loved the nose and it was velvet on the palate. A nice fairly ripe Cabernet structure with complex and layered notes of black cherry, chocolate, and cedar notes with just a hint of spice on the backend of the palate. Full-bodied but a graceful finish. The Sherwins and Donna are such amazing people. Love the estate....this place and their wine is still a hidden gem in Napa Valley. …

I just found this bottle of 2007 Sherwin Family Vineyards in one of my coolers; we went to Napa in 2013, and it somehow got lost until a few days ago in the very back with my Bordeaux….so very happy I did. It was absolutely wonderful….not a big monster, but was amazing. On the first mouthful there was soft and pleasing herbal notes on the back of the tongue. After swallowing, there were soft berries, and it lasted for a …

Crumbly cork - Deep maroon color. Blackberry preserves, sweet concord grape jelly and earth with lovely spices on the nose. Gorgeous, silky texture on the palate with bright fruit flavors and vibrant spice. Really in a beautiful place with nicely integrated tannins allowing the flavors to shine. We thoroughly enjoyed this wine, on on its own, but even more so with our filets. The Sherwin Estate Cab has always be in our wheel house, and this bottle is no exception. It's soft smooth and well integrated. Love the bold inky black and blue fruit on the attack. In the mid-palate, the oak component has started to transform nicely into cedar notes and meld with black pepper. The finish is superb with mostly resolved tannins. based upon this …

Winery visit purchase from 2011, consumed over 2 days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Nose: Medium-plus intensity, dark fruit - blackberry and cassis, eucalyptus, tertiary notes of black olive, leather, and dark earth - very nice. Palate: Medium-full bodied, spicy dark fruit attack, great balance and mouth-feel, spicy lift thru the mid-palate, with menthol tobacco and earth appearing in the back-end. Finish: Lengthy, 45-60 seconds, dominated by spicy dark fruit, earth and leather. Wow, drinking wonderfully at the moment, hard …

We popped and poured. When the cork was pulled you could immediately smell the dark ripe fruit, figs, cherries and cassis wafted out of the bottle. In the glass, layers of mint, cocoa, cedar and pencil lead were also present. Very smooth and well integrated tannins, that blended well with acidity. This wine has another few years left.

Delish! Was expecting a nice Cab and ended up having a great one. Aired for about an hour before tasting. Dark color; deep rich nose of dark berry, coffee, and a herbal note; Medium body with low to moderate acidity and tannis but not flabby; intense flavors of plum, berry, coffee, and toasty oak. Paired wonderfully with a bone-in roast but this is complex enough to be a fun cerebral sipper.
