Valtostao Ribera del Duero Legón Roble

Great wine for the price. I was really happy with how it opened up in the glass. It started off a bit tart and had a long smooth finish. Overall the wine was well balanced.

Simple, too sweet -- needs more acid to balance the fruit and sugar. Nice oaky/leathery finish, good (but not overblown, surprisingly) tannins. Good for $10, a little weak for $10-20.

Really wonderfully floral on the nose, while the palate brings an interesting contrast of pure cherry and raspberry fruit along with a hint of cinammon and brown sugar. Nicey acidity on the moderately long finish.

Fair amount of fruit. Quick finish. Benefitted from some air. Overall good, simple, fun.

Dark rose in color with a crisp red fruit nose and slight pepper tones. The palate has similar characteristics and a slightly tart cedar finish.

{ST} From open bottle, air time < 1hr. Color medium ruby with some dark hues, medium body. Very surprising aroma of faint popcorn and theater butter in the foreground, and more typical dusty red berries in the background. Medium density tart red berries on the palate with a hint of smoke and earth. Medium-high acid, youthful but mild level of tannins, short finish. Pleasant overall, but for me simple berry flavor and not enough nuance to warrant the 12 dollar …

Quality wines of Spain Imports (MK, Chicago IL) : nose: nice nose of dark red fruits,cedar, and red cherries. Very good, but lacking any real depth to it taste: easier medium feel with good tones of red berries, dark red fruits and red cherries overall: a solid wine. Not a wine that will really leave that much of an impression, but wouldn't be bad if handed a glass

Bright, and good, but just a little more then I want to pay for this wine.
