Domodimonti Picens Marche IGT

This wine has aged wonderfully, really hitting it's stride. Still not a lot of fruit, but wonderfully nuanced flavors going on here now. Drink up!

Cherries on the nose with some cassis and a little sandalwood. Palate is darker - plums, sour cherry, leather and black pepper. Firm, somewhat chalky tannins. Good pizza wine.

Definitely needs some air time as it was really muted on pnp. After some time in the decanter it opened up a bit. Definitely not a lot of fruit here but some interesting peppery, leather flavors. Nice medium finish but the tannins were a little more drying than I normally prefer. Not a bad wine, but definitely nothing remarkable

This starts out mildly unpleasant, and becomes ok after breathing for an hour or two. Would not buy again.

Decent wine for the price but nothing the jumps off the page. Would like to try others from the region to compare but an interesting blend. Flavors subtle. Nothing to exciting.

This is my third of three bottles. As I've said previously, it's a decent wine, but not exceptional. In addition, the neck is annoyingly narrow, so it was difficult to add a pour spout that fit. It's an odd size, and I wonder if it's peculiar to the winery (just slightly more narrow). It's a nice wine, but I could get a perfectly good "nice" wine from the grocery store.

Strong alcohol/glue on the nose, almost unpleasant. Hot fruit in the mouth, acidic, not very complex. Medium finish. Maybe better paired with the right food. Update: a couple hours after opening, the wine has opened up nicely and is now quite round and much more pleasant. Updating my score from 83 to 86.

I liked this interesting red blend, although I think that the ratings of "90" that others have given it might be a bit over the top. It's very good; it's a nice, solid, goes well with dinner wine, and the price that I purchased it at ($15) was very reasonable.

An unusual combination of grape types blended into a delightful wine. Certainly a different sort of wine. 50+5+12+16+7=90
