ABV: 14.6%. Bright nose of red fruits mixed with Christmas spices and roasted herbs, but I also detect a little heat coming off from the alcohol (perhaps I served it a bit too warm?). On the palate, there's good acidity to lift the fruits, but it could use some more time in the cellar for better integration (perhaps it'll be better tomorrow?). Nice, lengthy finish to wrap it up. I'll give this wine the benefit of the doubt and say …

Well past it’s prime but there’s still some deep red cherry aromas along with espresso and vanilla. Awkward on the palate with stewed fruit, light tannin, and medium acidity. Finished bitter and a bit hot. Not great but not horrible considering this was never meant to age this long.

In typical Patz fashion, wonderful cherry notes, smooth on the palate, nice gentle finish. It's too easy.

Takes a good 45 minutes to open, but when it does, it's terrific. The wine embodies what I love about pinot. Fruit/balance/strong finish.

Two hour decant presented a dark, full bodied, cab drinkers Pinot. This wine can enjoyed just for its nose, but its rich, palate filling taste of rich dark fruit and lengthly finish do not disappoint.

Decanted 90 minutes- nearly black in color- zero lingering tart finish- resembles a cab- reminds me of the 2009 Hall Cabernet but less body. Not convinced its worth the price. Needs another 2 years in the cellar.

- Ruby color and aromas of raspberry and strawberry. It's in total harmony and has flavours of black currant and raspberry with a medium body. Smooth texture with a medium finish - A favorite! Never disappoints. Wonderful fruit and perfect body from cool Sonoma.

This wine is drinking beautifully now; has become more seamless with still the great red berries, a hint of cola, and great finish. Wanted to see how this aged, and I can say that it is wonderful now with no hint of age.

Hot and disjointed. If it weren't for the fact that this was 25% off at K&D for a winemakers tasting event, it would have been horribly overpriced. Even so, avoid this in favor of dutton or equivalent.

(sorry, this was the '08, not '07) Served with Thanksgiving dinner, and then as we watched photos of Tanzania. Very consistent with previous note - a nice, full, rich California style Pinot.

(Sorry, this was '08, not '07) Outstanding. Drank with dinner, and it paired wonderfully with the Chinook salmon. A nice California style pinot that appealed to all six of us. (this review originally mis-applied to the '08 vintage).

Fairly intense Pinot Noir but with few secondary flavors. I like it a lot at this price. About an hour decant was fine. Probably worth giving it a few more years in the cellar to see how it develops, but if you have a case you can start drinking now.

Super-ripe to the point of almost being sweet, this is full-blown, massive, and tastes very little of Pinot Noir. Appealing on the nose, this has almost Grenache-like aromas of roasted plum, cherry jam, baked earth, and toasted nuts. Medium+ bodied on the palate, alcoholic, and lacking depth and texture, the mouthfeel coming more from alcohol than tannin.

Thomas Keller dinner (Mandarin Grill) : not my style of pinot. too much heat, over extracted, over acidic. possibly the most disappointing wine and food item of the night as Chef Keller's Cavendish Farms Pheasant was overcooked and dry.

Opened a split, no decanting. Bright, deep ruby color with a structured red fruit nose. Candied red cherries and sweet strawberries. Initially, there was a smoky licorice that was prominent, but this was gone in 15 minutes. Wine continued to show some spice, leather and earth. Good acidity, medium finish.

Slightly dark, semi-translucent ruby. Big, clean, expressive nose of rich red cherry coupled with a higly aromatic floral overtone. Rich and supple, some tannin, slightly elevated acidity and just a touch of heat on the finish. Otherwise, a spectacular cool climate Russian River Valley/Sonoma Coast pinot noir very representative of the region.

Smoke jumps out on the nose, as does baked cherries, stewed raspberries and leathered strawberry fruit. The nose is very complex and delicate. The taste is very elegant; it is a soft and feminine expression of California Pinot with all of the aforementioned flavors on the palate. Very smooth and very well made. A beautiful wine.

A very attractive, clean nose of black cherries, raspberries and strawberries. Beautifully balanced on the palate, with consistent flavors and a long finish. Drinking very well right now but will likely improve with age. It has the tannins and structure to go the distance, but it is drinking so well now I think there's no reason to let all the fruit fade away.
