Weekly tasting group #187; Burgundy 2005 (@ VD) : Beautiful bouquet with red fruits, some metal/minerals, spiciness and barnyard smells at first, but they disappear after a while. On the palate red fruits, impressions of metal, sweet licorice, some chocolate, flint stone, beautifully integrated oak, round and good acidity and soft tannin. Good length. Overall a really beautiful wine in its (early) maturity stage now. 91+ for tonight.
