Yelland & Papps Shiraz Limited Cuvee

Deep red. Reflects the 60yo Greenock vines, the French oak and the care taken. But the wine does not live up to these efforts. It has velvety structure but the wine lacks balance. It is surprisingly acid. Was the acid added? I suspect so. I think about what Torbreck or Kalleske would do with this fruit… A list price of $120 or so, selling through Nick’s for $40. The label suggests a cancelled EU export order. Not for my cellar.
