Last of a case and these have been a fantastic QPR at Last Bottle's closeout price of $12. Definitely drinks like a $30-60 chardonnay. Consistent with '16 note and amazingly still drinking well, though some oxidative notes are creeping in (not detracting at this point, but I'd probably drink em if you got em). Awesome.

I bought a couple of cases of this wine from Last Bottle a few years ago. Apparently, the winery went out of business and they sold the remaining stock to the online flash seller for a song. I ended up getting this purported $50 Chardonnay for $10. I ordered a case and tried it almost as soon as it landed (illegally) on my stoop. And it wasn’t bad. I am not sure if I would pay $50 for it, but …

I was afraid this might have faded, at 11 years of age. Not so! It was fresh and beautiful, lovely fruit, just a hint of oak. Looking forward to the next bottle.

What a rocking QPR these have been; I can't believe I got these for $12. Insane. Definitely drinks like a $30-60 wine. I believe I've had others since, but this is certainly more balanced than my '13 note with regard to the alcohol. Deep, rich golden color. Aromas of saline, butterscotch, buttered popcorn, vanilla, coconut, and tropical fruits like pineapple and papaya. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of waxy yellow fruits, almond, and saline.

Bizarrely, this actually improved after open for 2 hours. No doubt, though, that this has started on the downward slope, but it is still beautiful. For those who like a mature touch to their chardonnay this will be a point, just now (don't have the accent grave to put over the 'a'), but I think the oxidized characteristics will take over, the fruit drop more, and the alcohol begin to stand out more. I'm still really liking it tonight, though. Bonnie …

Wow. It has been over a year since I wrote that I needed to get to the last two bottles sooner rather than later. Well, I should have heeded my own advice. While this is still a fine example of an old-school Chard, father time has sneaked in a bit with a hint of oxidation. Don't get me wrong, this is still a solid Chard, particularly if you like a bit of oak and a dash of butter. Yum. thedrunkencyclist.com

And it marches on gloriously, surprisingly! Still hanging in there in a mature sort of way. One of the best Chardonnay purchases in years, it is a winner.

Popped and poured. Dark, golden straw color. Super ripe cantaloup, star fruit, guava, macadamia nuts. A very graceful end-of-life for a very nice New World Chardonnay. Last of my case. Drink now.

Great with roast chicken. It is losing fruit with the years-drink now!

Popped and poured. Remarkably, still very enjoyable...if you can appreciate well aged Chardonnay. Quince and nuts. Acid has kept this beauty alive. Showing oh so well on its 8th year. That being said, it's on a gradual decline so drink them if you've got them; only down from here.

It is getting down to the nitty-gritty on this wine. I bought two cases of this a couple of years ago, and after this one, there are but two left. A bit of an old-style Chardonnay with a bunch of oak and vanilla, but I really dig this wine. I think I need to get to the other two bottles soon, but the last drop will be a melancholic event. Outstanding. thedrunkencyclist.com

Definitely showing lots of complex nuances as a result of the aging process. Solid, complex, flavorful, and still hanging in there. Drink up!

Beginning to lose its lustre but still the best $12 bottle of chardonnay I've ever bought. Vanilla and caramel on the nose with fruit on the palate and a long finish.

Although there's been some bottle variation over the dozen or so bottles of this that I've drank since late 2012, this ended up being a great purchase from the Last Bottle. It's still hanging in there, although it has peaked and has slowly started to show signs of oxidation. I recommend drinking sooner rather than later and certainly before the end of 2014. Definitely a mature and rounded Chardonnay. I still have a few left from the 18 purchased but …

I have called this my "Divine Intervention" wine, and it came through again. At the last moment, I decided to bring it along to a wine dinner that I was conducting at I needed it for the course that the chefs forgot to tell me about--and it went very well with the cantaloupe and bacon risotto. I think I'm starting to understand this wine after having drank 6-8 bottles over the last year, and experiencing considerable bottle variation. I opened a bottle last night prior to meeting friends for dinner; the wine was bitter and sharp, seemingly overwhelmed with oak and very acidic. Being in a bit of a hurry, I recorked it, and used a vacuum to seal the remainder. When I tried it today, the wine was delicious: buttery, and smooth displaying crisp apple, …

Bottle variation seems to be a factor for this wine. After almost seven years it seems to gave peaked and may be starting to decline. Still really enjoyable; oxidation seems to effect some bottles and not others. This bottle was very good; I stocked up and still have another 10 bottles or so. I think this will go another year and then oxidation will become more prevalent.

My opinion fluctuates on this wine. Good qualities but the heat gets to me. A touch too intense on the alcohol this time around for a 90 rating.

Last bottle not so great, this one is very good. Nice chardonnay buttery smell, but not cloying. Easy drinker.
