Jim & Joe's Burgundy Lunch (1243 Bourgogne Society - Beaune) : Dry apricot with good depth. Moderate sweetness, low botrytis, good acidity, which struck me as an unusual combination of features. Very enjoyable.

My Birthday 2015 (Pine Green) : Pop and poured. Drank over 1 hour. Appearance is clear, deep gold colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of burnt caramel, honey, dried apricots, kumquats, petroleum. Developed. On the palate, sweet, high acidity, medium alcohol, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of burnt caramel, honey, kumquats, dried apricots. Long finish. Good quality Sauternes. It was nice to pick up an older Sauternes for under $20. Although the vintage does not score well, this wine is acceptable in style. However it does not have the nectar, cloyying sap of a great vintage in Sauternes. More like an average desert wine or apertiff, nothing great but for the price and vintage it was fun.
