Medium garnet, pink edge, fresh strawberry, bright, tannins are about halfway resolved. Acid is showing. I think this is at peak now and the acid will overpower in a few years. But still very nice now!

Deep garnet in glass. Bouquet of strawberry, blueberry and boysenberry cobbler, baking spices and sunshine! Palate with perfect balance of acidity and tannins. Berries galore! Long palate! Served with bourbon salmon.

This was one of the best Pinot noirs I had this year Stylistically Burgundian, I actually put it closer to Vosne Romanee in terms of sensual dark fruit and exotic spices (Chinese spice), structurally it is more feminine, medium body, medium plus acidity, soft tannins. Ruby in color with pal edges Notes of bright red fruit, cherry, raspberry, followed by a touch of oak, leather, and a hint of minerality. Thoroughly enjoyed. Would be great to see how this ages as it reminds me more of a burgundy vs. a Santa barbara Pinot. got better with each sip.

I am a Burg collector and normally not a fan of American Pinots. This bottle I really liked and I am doing a review as a comparison with Burgundy Pinots. The top line take away is that it has a Burgundian sensibility but with a quite different profile. It does not try too hard to be Burgundian and it's darker toned than a Burg. Wonderful cherries + plum nose. Smooth texture with chalky/earthy notes. Color is a nice red-brown that intrigues and entices you to try yet another sip. Unlike any other California pinot that I've had.
