Medium-bodied, vibrant, crisp, fresh, classically-styled wine with good energy, and ample sweet, ripe, red fruits in the chalky finish. Drink from 2026-2040.

I've been tracking this wine's development since I bought it en-primeur and it continues to disappoint me. Not much fruit in the nose, no taste or mouth feeling worth mentioning, no long after taste, acidity is OK, alcohol is balanced, tannines are firm, not too chewy. But no development over the years, decanting doesn't change much, it really is a bland glass of Bordeaux. First I thought it to be the wine, but having tasted many other 2017s (also bought …

86 vvPunkte / Strahlende Nase, herrliche Frucht, florale Noten. Im Gaumen dicht, karg, viel Gerbstoff überlager die Frucht. Wenig Charme. (Verkostet "En Primeur" im April 2023 / CVBG / Château Belgrave) #primeurs22 www.vvWine.ch

En Primeur campaign for the 2022 vintage Day Two (Bordeaux) : Black over red berry, a little cedar, sweet spice, touch of fruit tea. Juicy tending to medium plus intensity acidity, a little jubiness to the fruit, that fruit tea note present here as well. Quite talc textured tannins persist long. Okay

Quick tasting note. All tertiary, really quite lovely tannins, some nice wood and age on the nose, it's a pretty wine and remarkably well developed for this level. Totally not finished!

Standard lower-priced Bordeaux. Less fruit, more acidity, short of earthiness. Beaumont is better in balance.

Bonne surprise. Vin structuré, arômes tertiaires qui se développent après une heure. Bon équilibre. Peut encore vieillir.

2017 UGC Des Bordeaux, San Francisco, nose o dark fruit, good acid suggests needs 3 years in the cellar, I noted near term enjoyment for $20 makes it of interest, lovely, rich, medium body and medium/long finish, going back to this Chateau in 1985 it always surprises me with both cellar time and QPR, maybe this vintage will also.

Nice balance of leathery and ripe red and blue berries, toasted licorice and cumin. Soft and fruity without the green or herbaceous notes. The palate is lively with a tight structure in the mid-palate. A bit patchy in the texture. It finishes with dry tannins and a touch short. Retasted in Jan 2020, the mid palate is ripe and expansive red fruits with smooth mid-palate, though finish is still a touch short. To increase the pts by 2 pts to …

Very interesting to taste such an extremely old wine, but this wine was not any pleasure at all. Sewer system in the bouquet and on the palate unpleasant acidity. Although I usually try to find something positive in extremely old wines, I could not find it here. Deceased and no score.

When corona forces you to work at home (March 28, 2020) than you go cleaning, so I found this tasting note. A fresh colour, also a fresh bouquet with some mint, far deep there is a bit hefty acidity, missing a bit the balance to be good, a tad too sweet, a tad too bitter in the finish.
