From a 375 ml. Red cherries, oak and some floral notes, vibrant, but a bit dry and harsh.

Disappointing overall. Nose is restrained, with just a hint of what you would expect. Mouthfeel is ok and balanced, but nothing you remember. I doubt there is much more to come in the next years. A bad bottle, maybe?

A fine wine. An example of what a Barolo should be.

Not a great Barolo, but a very, very good and enjoyable one. Easydrinking, but still serious.

PnP. The color is garnet, not too dark, translucency around the edges. Beautiful nose: violets, pepper, very lovely. On the palate the mouthfeel is light and elegant typical of Barolo and Nebbiolo. But there is not too much complexity on the palate. Over the space of two hours, a bit more complexity started to come through as the tannins softened a bit. 91-92 pts.

opened after it was decanted. Color: Still very ruby red, quite slightly brownish tinge. Nose: Fresh crushed very ripe cherries to start with, went over and became more cooked over time, faint floral / rose scent, Italian aftershave (proraso the green one) not much else I could pull out of it. Taste: sour cherries. Mouthfeel: Tannin rich, medium+ acid.

Excellent and traditional barolo profile. Medium tannins, peppery notes, big cherry, dried herbs, leather and some acidity, opened up well after an hour but still tasted young and a bit short

For a “normale” this is really lovely- it’s very young of course with almost dominant tannins but it has the approachability of many 2015s and is a very enjoyable experience as a young Barolo. Aside from the tannins, which gripped the food nicely this is balanced- fruit (cherry) a little tar and high acidity. Smashing!

For a € 12.99 supermarket Barolo this is a very decent effort. It is impeccably made, it is on the supple side for obvious reasons, and the fruit is ever so slightly raisiny because of the warm vintage, but the balance and freshness and the quality of the tannins are beyond reproach. Good flavours, good length, Basically this is a jolly good wine for a modest price.

Had this with BBQ ribs Decanted about 2 hours Medium tannins, stealth-like strength without overwhelming fruit. I feel this wine could hold out all night. Curious to see how long this will age

Northern Italy Wine Dinner at Sidney's (Sidney's East Berlin PA) : Was by far the most enjoyable wine of the evening. Very pretty nose. Although this should really be cellared for a few more years, it was still pretty approachable now. The tannins were still a little out front, the fruit (cherry)was very forward. Nice layers of dried herbs, fennel, tobacco, and leather all came together to make this very enjoyable. And it was a perfect match with the Osso …

(Berry’s Italian Tasting) :: Classic Barolo profile. An expressive nose, leans on tobacco leaf and spices on top of a lovely sweet berry core, floral tones and tar.
