A good full bodied (very) wine. Tastes like it was aged in bourbon barrels. Definitely a fruit/bourbon bomb, but very good. Not quite a dessert wine, but on the border.

A solid Zin with the typical full dark sweet fruits and some earthy and herbal note.

Not a big Zin drinker, but this one is solid. Has an earthy nose and pours very dark. Give it some time in the glass. Taste is very fruity, dark fruits. Have a price if dark chocolate on hand.

Don't drink a lot of Zin's so don't know how characteristic this is of the variety - but very enjoyable wine. Nose of tobacco and cedar box (forest floor), mostly earthy smells, not a lot of fruit. Rich palate, dark fruit in the finish along with some clove and other spice. Not hot for its alcohol content.

Drank with Larry and Jo. They loved it. Definitely more fruity than most Zinfandels. Not particularly acidic. Enjoyable.

As pleasantly surprised as I was with the 2007 Moss Roxx (I gave it 88 points), I was equally disappointed with the 2010. It was thick and rich, ripe and jammy, raisiny and sweet. It's as if they threw a bunch of overripe black and blue fruit, rubber cement, vanilla, and sugar into a Vitamix and hit the smoothie option.

Opened another bottle Tuesday night with a different group of wine fans. It was even more positively received than the group on Friday night. It's official, this Zin is a winner, and I'll be buying several more bottles since everyone who has tried it has been unanimously gushing in their praise...especially given its excellent price point. See my note below for details on the taste profile.

No idea what these low reviews are going on about. This is a delicious Lodi style Zin. Ripe red fruit on the attack, with an unctuous mouth feel. A modest touch of mocha and spice on the mid palate, and a hint of ripe berry sweetness in the medium finish. This was easily one of the most popular wines in our group's blind tasting. I just bought 2 more bottles.

A thick, viscous, ripe, sweet zin. Berries and black licorice, thick and syrupy, not a style that is easy to get use too!

Jammy, over-ripe, sweet, lacked acidity. Just not my style.

Medicinal like aromas of red berry, clove, and cinnamon, not very appealing. Smells like a bad Christmas party. Thankfully the spices are not overly powerful on the palate, but still creep in a bit. Red fruit with black pepper on the finish. The wine is not flawed, just not that good. The wine comes in a giant bottle, trying to impress I guess.

nose - cloves and oak spice mouth - lush jammy berry fruit, very confectionery, and lacking the requisite acidity to be anything more than monolithic. still if this is your style of wine it's a winner.

This is not your everyday wine. A big flavorful Zinfandel from Lodi’s half to century year-old vines. Mature round tannins accenting generous raspberry chocolate, mocha and spice. This zinfandel is truly a delectable expression of Lodi’s signature terroir.
