Pale yellow. Chalky, mineral nose with ripe pears, fenel and smokey oak. Rich and sweet but vibrant palate with nice nutty, mineral fruit. Thisis just turning the corner to some secondary flavors and should be nice with another year or two on it. Very well balanced fruit and wood. Finish is more mineral than fruit and seriously long for macon. Nice showing.

Good colour; creamy, buttery, lightly oaked; crisp, spiced oakiness, lean, has bite. pisituve fnish. May fill out. 14> Pale gold; vanilla blancmange, hint of pineapple, deft, lively; gently oaked, crisp, has a tropical feel but really well balanced. Complete. 15

(Two bottles w/ dinner at Spring) Definitely a more settled and balanced wine. A slight sense of sweetness, good acidity. Obtrusive oak notes, unsettled creaminess and a short finish make this a lesser wine, but still well reflective and very good with food, even richer food like scallops over braised oxtail. A good crowd-pleaser for dinner.

Lush is the operative word here- full of fruit with a mineral quality that sets it apart. Served with Barefoot turkey meatloaf, mashed new potatoes and brussel sprouts it was a great match. Drinks more like a viognier than chard.

It started with a strong sense of sweetness that would lead one to think it was a Spatlese. Nice minerality, decent acidity, slight vanilla. Crisp and dry finish which eventually took over with ferocious lime notes. Too many extremes prevented it from being enjoyable on its own. A perfect pairing for frittata and salad.

Really solid white Burg from the master, despite the modest appelation. Crisp with not a hint of oak showing. Clean, crisp Chardonnay fruit punctuated by bright steely acidity. This wine saved me at a non-wine-geek turkey potluck where the food was brilliant, but the BYO wine selections were downright awful. Nice wine with the turkey too.
